I'm wondering if there's any way to speed up create table queries?
Besides upgrading hardware, that is. The very simplest table creation
query, "create table table1 ( field1 INT(10))" is taking about .03
seconds, which compared to other queries (large inserts at .01 seconds)
and previous experience appears inordinately long. Further, it appears
that most of that .03 seconds is some kind of overhead, since the
complexity of the create table...

Hi,
I noticed that when using the single commandline:
drop database <name>; create database <name>;
this sometimes fails due to a pg_autovacuum process running on the background.
When this happens, the error returned is:

My problem is as follows:
I need automatically iterate through a single field in a table and use
the values in the field to create an in-statement. Currently, the
character limitation in the "Zoom" feature of the MS Access query
builder limits the number of characters I can enter into my
In-Statement. As a result, I need to iterate through a particular
field (Customer ID Numbers) and use each record as a criteria in a
query. I want to...

I have several tables in my database. I use these to create 'quotations'
that show product code, description, selling price and quantity required.
Users can enter as many lines as possible and a running $ total is updated
after each line is updated. At the end of the 'quote' I simply want to press
a button, clear the inputted data and restart a new 'quotation'. Any help
would be appreciated.
I just don't know what code to put against...

I am scratching my head with the required quotes and parentheses.
I started with an existing working Query with Running Total
by date.
Now I need to produce a running total by quarter day, so I converted my
dates in serial increments of 6 hours intervals.
I verified that these serial dates have the expected values.
I run into repeated syntax error in the adapted Query.

I have an Windows application that displays lots of different colored lines in a Panel by using the Graphics.DrawLine method. The location and length of each line comes from a database query that takes two minutes to complete.
I am using the Panel's Paint event to call my drawing method, which accepts PaintEventArgs as a parameter. The problem is that every time the Window is moved or hidden, it needs to be repainted, which takes a long time...

Try this script to see what queries are taking over a second.
To get some real output, you need a long-running query. Here's one
(estimated to take over an hour):
PRINT GETDATE()
select count_big(*)
from sys.objects s1, sys.objects s2, sys.objects s3,
sys.objects s4, sys.objects s5
PRINT GETDATE()

My City My Date Cumulative Sum Daily Sum
DC 03-Apr-07 6 6
DC 04-Apr-07 20 14
DC 05-Apr-07 0 0
DC 06-Apr-07 24 4

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
