Counting days in an entered range

76 New Member
Hello,

On a report that I've created, I ask the user to input a starting date and an ending date to specify the range for which they want to see data. I've done this using [Enter Start Date] and [Enter End Date] in the query builder on the report.

I need to find averages based on the data which requires me to have a number of days in the range that is entered, like 31 if they enter 8/1/06 and 8/31/06 or 5 if they enter 3/8/06 and 3/12/06. Is there any way that I can do this?

Thanks,

Charlie

Hi,

Try with

DateDiff("d", Now, TheDate)
you can modify the format of your dates with Format(Dte, Format)

Have a nice day!

:)

hello, I have a query that is supposed to return only 1 record, however I recently found that because of an error in the database it can return more than 1. So what I need to do is capture if it is more than 1 record and alert the user to contact the database administrator. How can I get the count of records returned by a recordset? Is there no way besides looping through with a counter variable?

I'm looking for a script that, instead of counting down, can "count up" from a given date. So the output should be something like "(xx) days since (date/event)" or "(date/event) was (xx) days ago". Does anybody know where to find a script like that, or could someone code one for me? Thanks in advance. Yours,

I need to write a report in which one part shows a count of how many total records fall within the working days (Monday - Friday) inside of a (prompted) given date range, in a particular geographical region. I have written a query which prompts the user for the start and end dates. It also filters for entries which pertain to the particular geographical region. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I have tried using the following code to count the specific number of each weekday but get a compile error "User defined type not defined" which I think relates to the first line of the function: - Public Function HowManySpecificDays(StartDate As Date, EndDate As Date) As DayCounts and specifically the word "DayCounts" Can anyone help?

Hello, I am fairly new to Access and have been working on this problem for several days now. I don't suspect that the answer I am looking for should be as elucive as it has been. I will attempt to explain the purpose of the query I am trying to make. I am trying to display orders for a specific date range over a 3 year period based on a single date range entered in a form. The criteria used in my query is as follows:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
