You can use SysCmd
? SysCmd(acSysCmd GetObjectState, acForm, "FormName")
0 = not open, 1 = design mode, 3 = open
Or you can enumerate the open forms like this
Function IsLoaded(strFor mName)
Dim i
IsLoaded = False
For i = 0 To Forms.Count - 1
If Forms(i).FormNa me = strFormName Then
IsLoaded = True
Exit Function
End If
Next
End Function

Alternatively, if you use ADO, you could use the AllForms Collection.
If CurrentProject. AllForms("frmMy Form").IsLoaded Then

Buttons don't work if form is opened on startup
A2k
If 'frmMain' is set to open by default at startup none of the buttons
work.
If 'frmMain' is opened from the database window then all the buttons
work.
The form's name ('frmMain') is selected from in the Startup dialog
box.

I have a general purpose library that has a lot of checks for bad input
parameters like:
void *
linkedlist_get(struct linkedlist *l, unsigned int idx)
{
if (l == NULL) {
errno = EINVAL;
return NULL;

Through my MDI application, I open a FormX that is opened outside of the
application (not an MDI child). How can I check if the Form's open so I
don't load two instances of the same window? Is it possible that, within the
MDI container, a Form can have TopMost equal to true? For some reason,
TopMost property only works when the window's opened outside the MDI
container.
Thanks.

Would anyone know of a way to check whether or not a particular path is
a directory? If I have to go down the route of using _findfirst and
_findnext (windows specific), then so be it. However, I don't think it
should be that difficult to check.
My original idea was to check to see if the path can be opened with
fstream, but this can give false results if the path is a filename, and
the file cannot be opened. I am using boost, and can't...

Does anyone have any coding rules they follow when doing argument checking?
When arguments fail during check, do you return from the call with an
ambiguous return value, or do you throw exceptions?

I've been working on concurrency checking for an application I'm building, and a minor part of it has me slightly stumped.
I've got a DetailsView that populates from an ObjectDataSource, using business objects with optimistic concurrency checking built in in my Save() method (against a timestamp column). This can be proven to work perfectly in the following scenario:
- Start app, go to the DetailsView page (defaults to readonly), open a...

Something very strange going on here! Don't know where dstorms original post went! The post, in essence, stated that his form, containing a checkbox and a textbox, opened fine if opened independently, but opened without any controls showing if opened thru the Autoexec macro. The form was set up to open only Where ...checkbox = 1, but would open as stated above, with no controls showing, whether the box was checked or unchecked.

Hi to all,
I have a page that inserts excel sheet to access database. I am using asp. What I want to do is to check the inserting record if it is in the database. Basicly checking the dublicate record.
My code inserts records one by one using addnew-updatebatch. If there is a duplicate in the db, it will display "already exists" and if it is not in the db it will display "record added".
Below is my asp code I found on the net and...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
