Hi,
I have a database which records fitness test results of pupils.
There are the usual name fields and then a series of fields holding results,
e.g. field BP1 and field BP2; each of these fields holds a test result in
numerical form. Let's assume BP1 value is 55 and BP2 value is 57.
My problem is that I want to have a report which will only give me the
highest result for that test for each pupil; I need to be able to extract
the...

Trying to figure out the technique which should be used
to add rows to a datagrid. I am thinking that I would
want an "Add" button on the footer, but I am not quite
sure how to do that. Is that the best method? Do you
have a sample of how to do this?

I have asked this question before, but I could not get the suggested
solution work. So I will give more details this time.
I have an append query that adds several hundred records to a table into a
text field. Next to this text field is a separate Number (Single) field
with a unique ID number for the entry. I want each number to be 1 more than
the previous entry's number to keep it unique (I don't want autonumbering
for this, as I...

A client wants a press of the Enter key in a field on a continuous form to
grab the value of that field from the previous record.
But if they have typed a value and then hit Enter it shouldn't.
I have tried a few ways but the main problem is that after typing a value
and hitting Enter it still grabs the value from the previous record,
trashing the value they just typed.
Any ideas from you lateral thinkers.

Hi
I've been using the 2 year old link below to repeat values from previous record field into current corresponding field. It's worked fine for text but the last piece of advice was to use the same logic for a date field. i.e.
theValue.defaultvalue = "#" & theValue.value & "#"
I can't get this to work for some reason and I can't figure out why. Can anyone out there help?
Thanks
Repeat value of previous record field into current...

Hi - I'm trying to figure out how to append a record to a table and
then open a form and display that record. My thought was to use the
autonum primary key field (recordnum) and display the highest value
(which would be the new record), but I'm not sure if that can be done.
Any thought on displaying the record with the highest value in the
recordnum field or another approach would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I would like to be able to select the maximum (highest ) value for a
field, the 2nd highest, 3rd highest, etc. Are there any other
functions that I might consider using with SQL? MAX will only pick up
the highest and MIN the lowest value, but is there a way to pick up
middle values, i.e., the 2nd, 3rd, etc, so I can list them in one row,
along with a common key?
Thanks,
Carroll Rinehart

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
