If I build a form to input data into a table every time I open the form
I am seeing the data I enter the last time
my question is how every time I save data in my form I get a clean set
of fields to star with the next record
or how to clean my form every time I use it.

I was wondering what people do with text provided by the user in a form. Some cleaning needs to be done at some stage if you are going to be putting it in a database or displaying it etc. But when is the time to do that? Do you clean it as soon as you get it? Do you pass around the original text and clean it when you use it? What about magic slashes? You need to addslashes before using in a db statement, but you need to strip them...

Somebody take a look and give me any suggestions? My brain is nuked... Here's my deal....I have online submission forms on my intranet at work here....I am appending to an Access DB with the input from all HTML fields and then querying aforementioned DB with different variables (search by name, wave, reason, etc). The output that I'm getting (SELECT * 'cause I need all of the data included in the search) I would like to display in a nice...

Trying to get some ideas on a simple javascript project (to teach myself the language). I want to develop a client-side vocabulary practice application that would allow users to enter their own words, their own definitions plus an example of how the word is used in practice. It'll be all client side with - cookies? to get persistence so that the words won't disappear on me each time the page is closed (which is what happened when I

I'm trying to write a program in vb.net to automate filling out a series of forms on a website. There are three forms I need to fill out in sequence. The first one is urlencoded. My program is able to fill that one out just fine. The second form is multipart/form-data. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fill that out in a way that makes the server happy. I set up a copy of this form at my web site so that I could see exactly what a...

I have a table rendered with XSLT. The first column has a radio button controls for user to make a selection for a particular row. All the values in the remaining columns are all concated with a &#xA0; (blank). I need to retieve the text in each cell of that row if the radio button on that row is clicked. Each <TD> has a numeric ID so that I can use it with document.getElementById().innerText method. I use Javascript to assign some...

Hi, when I need to execute a general clean-up procedure (inside of a function) just before the function returns -- how do I do that when there are several returns spread over the whole function? My first approach: Use "while(1)" and "break", however this doesn't work if there is another loop inside (since I can't break two loops at the same time):

Hello, I have a really weird problem I've been trying to solve it without any luck for the last couple of hours :( I'm writing a "conference board" application (quite similar to ASP.NET forum). I'm working on examples of programming in several languages, all (except PHP) running under CGI so that I can show both the source files and the actually running of the examples online. The first set of examples, after decoding the HTML FORM contents, merely verifies the text within a field to make sure it is a valid representation of an integer, without any junk thrown in, i.e. it must satisfy the regular expression: ^ *?+ *$ If the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
