Subform changes focus back to first record

My subform is displaying records from a table. Using the master-child
links I am able to pass all of the necessary keys to show the correct
information.

When I try to select any item from a displayed record, a textbox or a
combobox, the focus is returned to the first record almost immediately.
If I am really quick and after a few attempts at wild clicking I am
able to select information from a drop down to edit the intended record
or add a new one.

There is absolutely no VB code on the subform and I have removed every
requery from the main form for safe measure. I may be developing OCD.

I'm interested in any help to make this form usable; workarounds are
welcome as well as perhaps pointing out obvious oversight on my part.

Thanks...

Howdy all. Appreciate your help with several problems I'm having: I'm trying to determine if the Visit subform (subformVisits) has a new record or been changed, i.e. dirty. The form that contains the subform is named Clients. I have this code in the Add Client btn: If Forms!Clients.subformVisits!VisitDirty = True Then MsgBox "Visit subform is dirty!"

How do I use VBA to insert a *new* record into a subform? I have a master form with client information, and a sub form with billing information. I want to click on a button ("Add Data") and have a record inserted into the subform's table, with date created and some information from the main table inserted into the proper fields in the subform. After the record is inserted, the data entry operator enters a Date Of Service and a billing...

I have built a database with a <Mainform> and a <Subform>. My problem is twofold. 1. My subform is set as a continuos form with AllowAddiotions set to NO (ie. a list of Issues to the client on the mainform) 2. To add new issues, a button is used and a pop-up form is used to add an issue with more detail than what's available on the subform. 3. On accepting the new Issue from the pop-up the pop-up closes and you are returned to the...

Hi, I have a form which contains a number of subforms in different pages of a tab control. In the detail section of each subform, I list records related to the main form record, but from different tables. In the footer section of the subform I have a Notes text box and three buttons (Add, Update, Delete). The latter each open a separate form for updating or deleting the subform data (the records cannot be updated or deleted directly...

I have a subform for entering grades inside a main form that describes the course code and course description. When I type the first grade and press Enter, the focus shifts to the next record (as it is supposed to do,) but then when I stop for a moment, it bounces back to the first record. It only does this once; if I press

I've asked this question before but over a month later I still don't have an answer. A few people did try to help and I am thankful, but I really didn't get the problem solved. I'll try to ask the question another way. I have a main form for collecting grades for students' activities. Inside the form is a subform which displays four fields: studentID, lName, fName, and score. The first three fields are only to identify the student and...

Main Form/SubForm When I requery or recalc my parent form after I updated a record in my subform, I lose the focus of that particular record in my subform. Instead, the first record is selected. How can I avoid this? -- Reginald Bal

I have a form with several subforms. Users enter the data, then on the parent there is a command button that runs code to generate a .pdf document from a report based on the data they are working with. If a user enters data in a subform, then directly clicks the command button on the parent form, the data in the subform is not included in their document. I THOUGHT that as soon as focus left the subform, any pending changes to the data...

I hope this is an easy question for someone out there. In Access 2000…I have a MainForm with a tab control (MAIN TABS) with 7 tabs. Within each tab is a SubForm. Within each SubForm is a tab control (TabCtl0) with 2-6 tabs. Within each TabCtl0, each tab contains a SubSubForm. Each record in the MainForm has an ID Number; the SubForms are bound to that ID Number, and the SubSubForms are bound to that ID Number in the SubForms. In order...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
