Recalc or refresh - focus current record in subform lost

Main Form/SubForm

When I requery or recalc my parent form after I updated a record in my
subform, I lose the focus of that particular record in my subform.
Instead, the first record is selected.

How can I avoid this?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Bookmark the current record. After the requery/recalc set the subform's
Bookmark back to the old Bookmark. Of course, if the ordering of the
recordset changes during the requery/recalc the Bookmark may not work.
Then try saving the Primary Key & after the requery/recalc try a Seek to
find the record.

What I would like to do from here is go to the chosen record after the code runs so we can edit filed in that record. I set focus to the subform and then refresh it--then I want to go to the record ...

I have a situation where I am using an unbound dialog form to update data in an Access 2002 split back end / front end scenario. The data update is done via an ADO call (direct to the back end db) when the user clicks the save button. The dialog then closes and the user should be able to see the result of their edit in a list view that now...

OK, this is a stupid thing, but I can't seem to get this to work. I have a form with a subform (in continuous form view). A combo box on the main form has code in the AfterUpdate event which adds a record to the subform (based on the value of the combo box) and requeries the subform control. I want the focus to return to the combo box on the...

I have a form with several subforms. Users enter the data, then on the parent there is a command button that runs code to generate a .pdf document from a report based on the data they are working with. I hope this is an easy question for someone out there. In Access 2000…I have a MainForm with a tab control (MAIN TABS) with 7 tabs. Within each tab is a SubForm. Within each SubForm is a tab control (TabCtl0) with 2-6 tabs. Within each TabCtl0, each tab contains a SubSubForm. Each record in the MainForm has an ID Number; the SubForms are...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
