FormOpen error after installing IE 7 beta?

In an Access97 MDE, I have a toolbar button with OnAction:
=OpenForm("MyFo rm2Open")

MyForm2Open exists in the database, and the associated recordsource
isn't empty. So, clicking on the toolbar button opens the form.

However, after installing Internet Explorer 7 Beta, one of my customers
now gets the message:
"Unable to open the specified window. Try again later. (Err 2501)"

The problem still exists after uninstalling the IE7 beta. Reinstalling
the Access97 application doesn't fix the problem.

Any ideas?

Well, that's what you get for installing beta software on a production
machine. It's not as if MSFT doesn't sternly warn against that
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/.../default.mspx).

Error 2501 typically means that during startup of the form, the
opening of it was cancelled. For example you can get this if in
Form_Open you write:
Cancel=True
as the only line of code. Perhaps there is a path in your code that
does just that.

A customer did the install...unfor tunately I don't have much control
over them! :-)

The application is an MDE runtime that I distribute over the internet,
so the form code itself doesn't seem likely to be the problem,
especially since it worked OK for the customer before this IE7 beta
installation. I'm asking the customer to run a program to check
dependencies now...but thought maybe someone else has seen an Access97
incompatibility with the IE7 beta.

I get an error installing beta2 on a VPC - clean XP pro drive. The beta2 came via DVD from Microsoft, so this isn't a downloaded and burnt copy. The error is Error 1310. Error writing to file: Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Resource.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory. Any assistance would be appreciated. thanks

I'm trying the Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Beta and get a "Cannot find server" error when I start it. It has the following url listed, and I have verified that the "html" directory does not exist. C:\program%20files\microsoft%20visual%20studio%208\common7\ide\vcsexpress\html\gettingstarted.htm 1. Is this a known issue with the Beta? 2. Is the Beta supposed to install this directory and my install failed?

I have built a VS 2005 C++ application (ported from VC++ 2003). It's a WinForm app. It runs OK on the development system, but when I try to deploy it on any other system, all users gets an error box, "Application configuration Error. Try re-installing the application. (Deployed using an MSI setup project). I downloaded Dependency Walker, and it says that 2 DLL's are not found: DWMAPI.DLL, EFSADU.DLL

I'm currently trying to install VC++ 2008 Express Beta 2. It downloads all the files just fine. Then it begins to install .NET Framework 3.5. This starts, but at around 5% done according to progress bar it stops progressing. At this point it hasb't moved for 15 minutes. Not sure what to do. Cancel and restart? Is this just a long process involved? The CPU seems about 50% active, and the Task Manage seems to think it is still running.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
