Set Window State

When my application loads I want to automatically Maximize the form.

In fact I want to have the Switchboard and all subsequent forms Maximized.

Can this be done via code. ?

Hi Richard,

Add "DoCmd.Maximize " to the On Open event of the Switchboard.

This will keep your subsequent windows maximized , unless you resize
one of them. You could add the command to all your forms if you like to
make sure everything opens maximized.

Cheers - David

Maximize

I can't advise strongly enough _against_ arbitrarily maximizing all forms if
you expect your application to be used by others -- the "Windows Way" is to
give the user control of his/her own desktop. And, some users (I, for one)
can be downright grumpy if you try to force me to do it "your way,"
instead -- so much so that we might just find another piece of software to
use that doesn't so force us.

Is there a way I can prevent the browser window from being closed? I'd like to make sure the browser window only closes programatically (I want to make sure the user enters data before moving on). Another possible solution would be to re-open the window when it's closed. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

When the application changes state, the HTML page URL would change from default.html to default.html#stateA. example: http://pearstudios.com/javascript/locationHashAndFlash.html ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
