Find a number in another table and change condition in original

I have a database that is used extensively to log warranty claims. There are
2 forms that this problem concerns, a warranty claim form and a warranty
registration form. Each of these forms is based off of a different table.

I would like to be able to enter a machine serial number on the claim form
and have a checkbox that would be checked if the machine serial number exists
in the Warranty Registration table, and unchecked if it does not.

I also have a button that opens the warranty registration form from the claim
form, and I would like the button to take me to the record in the warranty
registration form that cooresponds to the serial number entered on the claim
form.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shannan

I have a problem that at first glance seems not that hard to figure out. But, so far, the answer has escaped me. I have an old database file that has the date(s) stored in it as number of days. An example is: 36,525 represents 01/01/1900. The starting point date is considered to be : 00/00/0000. I have looked thru Help and used Google and have not really found an answer. I know that Leap Years need to be accounted for too. Any...

Hi, I have a database with insurance clients and their dependents (spouses and children). We had a problem in the past with the twins and some of them have been entered with one month difference in their dates of birth, some of them have the same dates of births. I need to query both cases. In the case where they are set up with one month difference, the dates of birth has to be within 4 months of each other and excluding the ones...

I have tried to use the query wizard to find unmatched records but it doesn't seem to be going right. The results are still giving me some records that are in both tables. I have two tables OriginalShops and AddedShops. Both tables have the same information in them. I want to find only records that are not contained it either tables. The following is the SQL statement created from the wizard: SELECT AddedShops.shop_name,...

New to Access here. I inherited a db that has the first column as an automatically generated sequential number. I want to bump it up, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. Is this type of generation a built in function of Access? I'm sure it can be written manually, but I doubt someone took the trouble to do it... Can someone point me in the right direction to figure out how to change this number? Thank you one and all!...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
