In my mysql database, I've stored all the passwords using the PASSWORD()
function. Now I'm running a test and need to compare the password in my php
document to that saved in the database. I used the string
"Select name From users Where password = PASSWORD('$testPass')"
and ran mysql_query() using the string. But nothing was returned. So I
decided to run a test and try to change a password from my php page using
the string

I am building an Access 2002 frontend with linked tables to an
encrypted Paradox 7 database. When I first create these linked tables,
I'm asked for the password to the encrypted Paradox database, and the
linked tables are successfully created. I use the data from these
linked tables in several forms.
All works great until I close the Access frontend and open it again.
When I try to use the forms, I get an error message: "Could not...

I have a simple data access and administration page for
user details on my site, including a login password --
but I cannot get the textbox to work properly if the
TextMode is set to "Password".
The user details are modified in making a hidden table
with textboxes visible -- in response an edit command
from the datagrid. One of the textboxes is used for the
user's password. If this textbox has the attribute
TextMode="SingleLine" (ie...

I am storing encrypted password in registry and using it then to log on my
application. However, my objConn.Open(str_connecton_string) crashes the
application if I use the encrypted password.
My connection string works fine with an unencrypted password and looks like:
str_connection_string = "data source=XXXX;initial catalog=dbname;user
ID=username;password=encryptedpassword;connection timeout = 5"
Any help will be appreciated.

I have some accounting and tax receipting type applications, developed
for charitable and non profit groups, that are exhibiting strange
behaviour on a few of the 30 or 40 user machines.
When some users (about 3 or 4 it seems) close the frontend db the Access
database password prompt appears. Users can just Cancel the pw prompt
(or enter the correct password) and the db will then close.
On the MS Office forum I found a post that...

I need to create a page for a friend who operates a school website. She
needs to set up a page so that only the Governors can access it. I thought
I'd try to use JavaScript to prompt for a password. (I am only an amateur at
writing JavaScript).
It works fine in my tests when using Firefox but when I load the page in
Internet Explorer it causes an error. (I am using the newest version 7 - the

Hello everyone.
I am working on a Password Strength Meter and I am running into 1 problem that I would like to fix.
When pressing the "Clear Password & Try Again" button, the password clears out of the text box, but the meter will stay at its current position until text is entered back into the textbox. Once text is re-entered, the meter will display the results again. I would like everything to reset when the button is pushed, but I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
