I am trying to implement a very fast queue using SQL Server.
The queue table will contain tens of millions of records.
The problem I have is the more records completed, the the slower it
gets. I don't want to remove data from the queue because I use the
same table to store results. The queue handles concurrent requests.
The status field will contain the following values:
0 = Waiting

I have a "source" table that is being populated by a DTS bulk import
of a text file. I need to scrub the source table after the import
step by running appropriate stored proc(s) to copy the source data to
2 normalized tables. The problem is that table "Companies" needs to
be populated first in order to generate the Identity ID and then use
that as the foreign key in the other table.
Here is the DDL:
CREATE TABLE . (

Just a sanity check -- data fed into pg using the
COPY tablename (col1, col2) FROM stdin;
... data
\.
Does not cause referential triggers to fire (i.e. foreign keys), right?
It seems to operate this way, yet I didn't see this mentioned
explicitly in the SQL reference manual page on the COPY command.

I want to open up 2 record sets. Then, copy everything from one record
set to another (excluding a few fields). Is this possible?
I need to exclude my primary key, and fields starting with "TMP_".
I'm trying this, but it's saying ADODB.Recordset error '800a0c93'
Operation is not allowed in this context.

i have to build a table within access that receives it's information
from an ASP web page and generates the primary key, with numbers and
letters, from the data submitted. a numer would be like this
06TTAG1202, but a little more complicated . the 06 would be from the
current year at time of submission, the TTAG would remain constant, the
12 would come from the information in the county feild (counties x,y,
and z would receive the...

I hope someone can help...I feel like I'm walking in the dark without a
flashlight (I'm NOT a programmer but have been called to task to do
some work in Access that is above my head).
I have code that will successfully copy a record and append the
information to a new record in the same table (parent table) within a
form. However, there are related child tables with primary keys (set
to Autonumber) stored in sub-forms. That information...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
