Hello,
I'm experimenting with Stephen Lebans' Rich Text Control for doing RTF
data entry into a memo field.
I imported the table, form, toobar, and modules from the A2k version
into an A2k3 DB. Then I edited a sample table record using the sample
form provided, then closed Access.
Then I could not re-open the MDB containing these items, nor any other
item. I observed that the LDB file is not going away, and that Access
has to be closed with the Task Manager.
The sample form's RTF2 control is bound to a text
I have to have the RTF control bound to a memo field in a table like in
Mr. Lebans' example, and I saw Stephen's post/suggestion about using an
unbound field.
Is there a way I can make the MDB etc. work properly so the LDB file
goes away on close like it is supposed to do??
If a form field is unbound, how do I get its contents into the correct
table record/field??
Thank you, Tom 2 2588
You need to set a Reference to the RT2 Library instead of just importing a
Form containing the RTF2 control. Other than that, I have never heard of
this issue before. Try deleting the RTF2 control, edit the Memo field and
see if the issue still exists.

Hello, I had already set a reference to RTF2, everything worked, etc.,
it was simply that after editing in the sample form etc. that the LDB
would not go away.
I found a different solution though.
I took Stephen Lebans' sample database, imported all my forms, tables,
etc. etc. into it, tried editing things again, and the ldb problem went
away, I think for good. So we still don't know what caused it, but this
was my particular cure.
Now I hope my end users will like it.

I'm using Stephen Lebans' RTF2 control in a report, and have discovered what
may be a slight bug in it.
I have a lot of non-Western language (Chinese) text in my RTF field, and
such records get sized strangely using the .RTFHeight property of the
control. Specifically, lines of text get cut off the bottom of the control
when I use the code provided in the sample report on the lebans.com site. It
seems that when there is Chinese text,...

Hi,
I'm using Stephen Lebans RTF control in an unbound Access 2000 form.
To populate the control I simply set the RTFtext property to the value
of the memo field in the database containing the RTF text. When my
form opens I get a very unhelpful message that tells me: Property is
read only. However, the RTF control is populated correctly and each
record has data. I believe this is an issue with how Access puts the
control onto the...

I use the Lebans calendar control and love it; the only thing is that it
commonly starts out at the year 1899 rather than the current year. Is there
a way to specifically tell it to start at the current date instead?
Note: it does this fine if I'm using it in the context of a form's text box,
but I'm trying to use it on a module which is called, whereby the date
chosen is the date plugged into a variable. Everytime after I reset the...

Hello.
I have been trying out the Lebans ToolTip Classes at
http://www.lebans.com/tooltip.htm, to display "balloon" style help tips in a
form. The classes I am using are located at
http://www.lebans.com/DownloadFiles/A2kTooltip.zip
So far the classes work perfectly, except that now I need to extend it to
support other controls besides the ones given in the example form. I have
gotten it to work with some controls, but not others. I...

I am trying to produce a program that will output any Access report to an
editable Word document. So far it is working well but slowly with text
boxes, labels, and lines.
I now need to try to output one of Stephen Lebans' RTF2 controls on the
report. He indicates that a copy and paste method will work from a form to
the Word doc and that is fine although I have not done this in VB, rather
used ^C and ^V
I suspect that a similar method...

I have just downloaded lebans rtf2 which initially looks very interesting.
Having a little trouble though in getting the RTF2 toolbar to appear on my
own db although it is on the sample. I have imported the modules correctly
(i think) and am able to create a RTF2 object from form design mode>active x
, but cant find the toolbar.
Secondly, is it possible to import text into an RTF2 memo field from say
word or excel using GET EXTERNAL...

I have Stephen Lebans' RichText control on a subform, which is bound to
a memo field.
The only editable control on this subform is the rich text control for
the memo field.
When the main form opens, the first record of the subform cannot be
typed into.
The only way to fix this is to page to the next record, then page back
to the first record, then one can type into the rich text control to

Hi Steve, I hope you can help me with this. In Access 97, I'm getting
the following error.
"The formats that enable you to output data as a Microsoft Excel,
rich-text format, MS-DOS text, or HTML file are missing from the
Windows Registry.
Run Setup to reinstall Microsoft Access or, if you're familiar with the
settings in the Registry, try to correct them yourself. etc.

I posted a few days ago that it seems to me that the Access 2007 rich text
feature does not support: a) full text justification; b) programmatic
manipulation.
I was hoping that someone might know one way or the other whether that was
true or not, or could point me to an article or help text that would. What I
have seen so far online and in Access 2007 help seems to confirm the above.
But that (or at least (b)) seems incredible that it...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
