I have just had to upgrade to Access 2003 as Access 97 EMail (SendObject) doesn't work when loaded on Windows XP. I'm finding my way around Access 2003 but my biggest problem is getting information. When I bought Access 1.0 many years ago, I got a paper manual and an excellent help file with all you needed to know. With Access 97 the manual came as a 'Building Applications' document on the CD and I still had the excellent help. With Access...

I have been given an Access Database which contains a table that has an OLE object field that contains a Word document. That table contains hundreds of records. I would like to find out how I can write a VB script, to be executed either within Access or executed at the CMD prompt, which will loop through all the records and open the document object and save it to a Word document that I can access from Windows Explorer. An additional info...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

Hello everyone, This is my first attempt at getting help in this manner. Please forgive me if this is an inappropriate request. I suddenly find myself in urgent need of instruction on how to communicate with a MySQL database table on a web server, from inside of my company's Access-VBA application. I know VBA pretty well but have never before needed to do this HTTP/XML/MySQL type functions.

We get more and more data done in excel and then they want it imported into access. The data is just stupid....values of 1 to 5 we get a lot of 0's ok that alright but 1-jan ? we get colums that are formatted for number and then half way down they are changed to text. OR the famous ok now everything in red is ---- and everything in blue is---------. WTF are these people thinking?

I've come up against a major headache that I can't seem to find a solution for but I'm sure there must be a workaround and I would really be grateful of any help. I'm currently building a web site for a small club I belong to and one of the features I would like to include is the ability to allow users to upload image files. unfortunately the servers web root www folder only allows READ and EXECUTE permissions, which makes it...

My establishment has about 20 ms access db's that will be converted over (see subject). When we pull all the BE's over to SQL and the FE's on Sharepoint (.net) surely we don't have to change every user face, we should be able to use the same FE in as before as now on Sharepoint? ANSWER:

Hi Have just installed IIS7 on Vista and am trying to access a .mdb file through ASP. Getting server error. I think the problem is in the file permission. Under XP Pro/IIS6 is used to have to set the .mdb file security via windows explorer to give IUSR_machinename full permissions on this file for anonymous web access. Cant seem to do this with Vista explorer - says object cannot be found.

Before anything else, I am not a very technical expert when it comes to VBA coding. I learned most of what I know by the excellent Access/VBA forum from bytes.com (formerly thescripts.com). Ergo, I will be writing this article intended for those who are in the same level, or maybe lower, of my technical knowledge. I would be using layman's words, or maybe, my own words as how I understand them, hoping, you will understand it the same way that...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
