How to do group header?

Hi...
I think this is a really simple question, but I can't find the answer.
I have a subreport that has columns and column headings. The subreport
can span over several pages. The column headings don't repeat on the
subsequent pages (I have them set up as 'report headings' on the
subreport). I read threads that say to instead make these 'group
headings', and set repeat to Yes. I feel stupid asking this, but I
can't figure out how to create a group heading, even after reading help
and many threads.

I assume I select the current column headings - then - ????????

HELP!
thanks

Right click in some blank part of the report design, and select Grouping and
Sorting.
Add the field you want to group by.....and in the options below, select yes
for Group Header (and footer) if desired.
Check out the other options there for fun and interesting ways of adapting
the grouping levels.

Got it- thanks, Mal.!

(although I must confess, the 'fun and interesting' part escapes
me...maybe I need to play around with it some more???).

thanks...

Oops, spoke too soon. Just got a hit of 'fun and interesting' as the
group level had different ideas than I did! Thanks!

I currently have a Form with Option buttons (to give you the option of sorting by name, or by Field, etc), these are referenced in a module which then formats the report contingent on the option chosen (i.e. the title changes to say "Sorted by Name" or "Sorted by Field"). For one of the options, "Sort by Field" I would not only like to have them sorted by Field alphabetically, but I would like to Group them and have a Group Header and...

Hi, I must be missing something blindingly obvious. If I don't want a page header to appear on a report header I set 'Not with Rpt Hdr/Ftr' in the report. But I don't want the Page Header where I have a group header. Wher can I set this?? I'm sure I'll be embarassed by a simple answer ... but I can't find it.

I have a grouped report with a subreport in the group footer. The report is set to start a new page for each group. All the labels for fields are in the group header and there is a subreport in the group header also. The subreport in the group footer is based on a query. I have code in the group header that runs a function whose value becomes part of the criteria in the query for the subreport in the group footer. The value of the function...

Hello all I have a report where I have two nested groups. I know there are only three standard options for running sum: None, Over Group and Over All. I have a MyTextBox in detail section where the data is summed over group. But the data is summed over the second group. When a new group begins MyTextBox value is resetting to zero. I need a running sum over the first group so when another second group begins MyTextBox value will

I have a report that uses a query as the recordsource. One field in the query is called Header which can be either Approved, Received, Not Taken, Closed Out. On the report footer - I total each of these by txtTotalApproves = Sum(IIF(Header="Approved",1,0)). Then I reference these in the report header as a summary page at the TOP of the report.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
