Hi,
I have a pretty wierd situation. I have a javascript function that
runs when I submit a page. The onsubmit code does quite a bit - it
goes through a big textarea and replaces tabs with spaces,
inserts/removes line breaks...it uses regular expressions to convert
textarea content into somethign that can be sent to a mainframe
application.
Here's the problem: Sometimes special characters are pasted into the

I am having a most frustrating problem that references, web searches,
and other resources are no help so far in solving. Basically, I'm trying
to design a pop-up window to be called with a funciton in a link. that
function can have parameters for URL and window name passed to it.
This works peachy in Firefox (1.0). With IE 6 (6.0.29) on two separate
computers, I get an "onject expected" error. Going to the MS-based
debugger just tells me...

I understand that when a switch statement is used without breaks, the
code continues executing even after a matching case is found. Why,
though, are subsequent cases not evaluated?
I wrote a program to demonstrate how a switch without breaks behaves
vs. how I expected it to behave. The code includes:
(1) a switch statement with breaks
(2) the if/else statements that have the same results as (1)
(3) a switch statement without breaks...

As an old vb6 programmer coming to C# I was wanting to update my technique
for storing app settings like for form controls state(radioButton, checkBox
selection) and user configurable settings. In vb6 I did this by using the
SaveSetting/GetSetting pairs to store & retrieve the key value pairs
into/from the registry.
What's a better or another way to do this with C#?
Thanks
Mike

Best explanation of my question will be an example, look below at this
simple function:
function SetEventHandler(element)
{
// some operations on element
element.onclick =
function(event)

The function below does exactly what I want it to (there is a main to
test it as well.) However, I'm curious about ideas of making it better.
Anyone interested in critiquing it?
void formatText( const string& in, int charsPerLine, int lines,
vector< string >& out )
{
out.resize( 1 );
out = "";
int prev = 0;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
