Having a tough time re-deploying proper System.mdw

I have a custom menu bar that I seem to be having trouble deploying with the
database. This type of custom object is kept in the System.mdw correct? I
have a target machine that won't let go of the original custom menubar that
I created. Even when I remove the existing system.mdw, it seems to get
re-created the next time I open Access, BUT it doesn't include the new menu
bar, which leads me to believe that the program isn't creating this file.

Any idea how to re-deploy the system.mdw so it actually works?

Thanks!

NO! System.mdw is the default Workgroup Information File that ships with
Access. It stores user and group information for User-Level Security and
has nothing to do with custom menus.

AIUI, from A2k on, if System.mdw can't be found then Access will re-create
it, but you're on the wrong tack with this problem anyway.

Forget about system.mdw, the problem lies elsewhere.

That I can't tell you, but at least you can concentrate on finding it
without the red herring misleading you.

Did you actually create a NEW menu bar or did you modify a built in one?

New menu bars travel with the file and are only visible in that file.

Customizations to built in menu bars are NOT part of the file. They are
visible only on the PC where the customization was done in ALL files viewed
on that PC.

First off, rename/copy the one you want to use and call it something like
Jozef.mdw.

Then I'd take what steps re needed to associate that .MDW with the instance of
MS Access in question.

I'm dancing around the way to do this bc I can't think of it right now.... but
renaming to Jozef.mdw will allow you to check it while in MS Access (probably
via one of the SysCmd calls).

It's a "new" custom one.

I guess I'm confused by the whole timezone thing and I don't want to write a web app that gets this stuff wrong. I don't know how timezones work exactly -- is it just hours +/- on GMT or are there going to be minor differences on minutes and seconds too? What I want to do is have a web app that one logs into (great place for submitting the browser's view on time via Javascript) and then the user sees the records from the database with...

1. I'm designing a PHP-based page that has a lot of design stuff in it. It's very tough to mix the HTML and PHP and have it be readable. The site isn't overall so complicated, there's just a lot of graphics. Is there some commercial way to design the page in a design program, then to use the designed page as a skeleton, or "template" or "fill in" page as a pre-cursor for a real HTML page? For instance, I could replace the designed graphic...

This is a tough question to ask. I need to pull up a report of all the orders in our e-commerce site, that has more than one item attributed to it. orders.ordernum, orderitems.itemnumber orderitems.ordernum is shared with the same field in the orders table. In PHP I could just do a querey of all ordernumbers and within the WHILE do a querey of orderitems where the ordernum equals the original querey, and then do what I need IF numrows >...

I have an "appointments" page where the user should (or not necessarily) choose a date and time for his appointment, from 6 combo boxes:year, month, day, hour, minute and AM or PM, without seconds 'cause I set them to 0. Being able to scale the databases as needed so the performance is unaffected, is one of our critical requirements. We've been investigating...

Hi, we are currently writing an mostly singlethreaded (game)server application in c#. But we are encountering problems with the Garbage Collector: After a certain time but also apparently randomly the GC starts working Alot and taking up to 60-70% of the cpu time, which results in huge lags in responce time of the server. The server uses (depending on the setting) around 350-800 MB of memory ( the servers we tested this on had from...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
