Hello,
I have a very perplexing (at least to me) problem that hopefully
someone can help me with. I'm making a site with a 3 column layout. In the
middle column (my fluid column) I am trying to put a table of 99% width.
When I do this the table actually extends to the right over my right column
and off the screen. After much debugging and trying of different things, I
change this line in my code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD...

I'm working on an application (OEM) using C# that utilizes input from a
keyboard, and USB Barcode Scanner. The scanner is a HID Keyboard device,
and input from it is sent to the system as if it were a keyboard. I need to
be able to identify input from the scanner and keyboard independently. I've
looked at DirectX.DirectInput, and using user32.dll to hook into the
keyboard messages, but neither method seems to allow for identification of...

the pin yin for certain word and type it out , the field that i try to
enter the chinese word will instantly crash for no reasons. The pin yin
program seems like it stuck at some point and only kep leading me to
crashes. Before i can still type chinese words with Microsoft New
Phenotic IME 2002a and...

Hi all,
I haven't experienced functional programming very much, but now I'm
trying to learn Haskell and I've learned that: 1) in functional
programming LISTS are fundmental; 2) any "cycle" in FP become
recursion.
I also know that Python got some useful tool such as map, filter,
reduce... so I told: "let's try some FP-style programming with
Python!". I took a little example of Haskell:

Hello, I am working with a system developed several years ago, and was
recently internationalized to support unicode languages.
I am running into a very frustrating and challenging problem:
In 99% of the textboxes, entering chinese (or japanese or arabic)
characters (using windows IME), in any amount and length, will show
up and puts random characters int he textbox (sometimes '?', sometimes
a box, sometimes a different chinese char,...

How can I duplicate the behavior of the operating system shortcut keys
in my application? For example, my windows form has 5 controls
(textboxes), the operating system will pickup which control has the
focus and handle ctrl-c, ctrl-v, or any other shortcuts. I have the
same shortcuts working in my app, but have not determined how to find
out which control has focus. Would I set up a loop or code for each
control at form level. Any help...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
