Hi Folks,
I'm a brand new Python programmer, so please point me in the right
direction if this is not the best forum for this question....
I would like to open an existing MS Excel spreadsheet and extract
information from specific worksheets and cells.
I'm not really sure how to get started with this process.

I am trying to copy the cell contents in an MSFLXGRD control (using
VB5) into Excel, retaining the foreground colors of the text and
numbers.
I have tried using the Clipboard.SetText msflxgrd1.Clip command, but
that ignores the colors.
I have tried to write rtf-coded text to the clipboard using:
Clipboard.SetText rtf_Text, -16639

Hello all,
My code can successfully open, write to, format and save several
worksheets in a workbook then save it by a given name, close and quit excel.
My problem is that if I try and do it again, Excel hangs. OR if I open
Excel again (say from a desktop icon) before I close Access, Excel
hangs. (this has happened for both 97 & 2000 for me)
I of course thought that I mustn't be unloading a variable properly.

Hi All,
My problem is trying to figure out how to get the numbers
from a range of cells in Excel into an array (double) in a
VB.NET program, do something with the array, and then send
it back to the spreadsheet. I AM able to open an exiting
Excel spreadsheet and do this with a single cell but not
an array. In addition, I can send an array from the
VB.NET program to a range of cells in Excel but I can't
for the life of me figure out how...

I want to make sure that I'm closing an opened spreadsheet correctly. I've
been having some locking up problems. The following code adds a dummy row to
the spreadsheet to ensure that that the data gets transferred in the correct
format. It seems to be working correctly, but if anyone has any comments on
that I'd appreciate it. Right now, I'm mostly concerned about opening and
closing the spreadsheet. Here's the pertinent part of the code:

I have gone throught the group and Microsoft's online help and have
seen many suggestions but I am still seeking clarity:
1. I have an excel spreadsheet. Column A contains text that may be
greater than 255 characters.
2. I have an access database. I link (not import) to the contents of

someone else's system, the pathname to the excel file is different.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
