Help with setting Access Memo field restrictions using DDL

Hello-

I am trying to create an Access table using DDL that has a memo field.
I have the syntax to create the memo field but I can't find the syntax
to also set whether the memo field should allow zero length. I can set
this option using the Access interface directly, but I want to create
this table and this column definition using a DDL script. Listed below
is the script that works but I just need the syntax to set the
additional setting of allowing zero length.

The field in question is the instructions memo field.

The DDL script I have so far is:

CREATE TABLE Media_schedule (
Schedule_id AUTOINCREMENT constraint Primarykeyname Primary Key,
Media_type_id INT ,
Group_id INT ,
Media_id INT ,
Status INT ,
Delivery_time_e ncoded CHAR (10) ,
Delivery_date_s ysformat datetime ,
Pickup_time_enc oded CHAR (10) ,
Pickup_date_sys format datetime ,
Customer_id CHAR (20) ,
Address CHAR (100) ,
Building CHAR (100) ,
Room CHAR (100) ,
Phone CHAR (50) ,
Instructions memo ,
Contact CHAR (100) ,
Event_descripti on CHAR (100)
);

Thanks

I have a memo field that is included in some Access reports I created. Is there some way for the memo field to display nicely formatted text, with line breaks between paragraphs? Or is it necessary to export the report? I tried exporting a report by using the .rtf rich-text format (the plain-text format was the only other word-processing option listed when exporting). I then opened the .rtf file in Word. However, it looks like some...

Hello all, This is going to be a rather lengthy "question". I have an Access 2k database, separated front end/back end. Front end copies are on about 30 workstations and used frequently during the work day. The backend has a table called CLIENTS with approximately 6000 client records. Changes to data in the table are made via a frontend db Form which has CLIENTS as its record source.

I've beaten my head againts this for two weeks and would appreciate any help. Am running Dreamweaver 2004 MX asp pages with MS Access 2000 and then 2003 and received same problems! I've rebuilt pages etc. etc. Insert and update work, but updating of records with data in the memo field seem to crash/corrupt Access--but only on those records. The problem seems to narrow down to updating a record's memo field. It

Can I set the Format property in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Input Mask in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Format of a Yes/No field to Checkbox in code? I am working on a remote update of tables and fields and can't find enough information on these things. Also, how do you index a field in code?

Hello, I'm looking for a way to parse/format a memo field within a report. The Access 2000 database (application) has an equipment table that holds a memo field. Within the report, the memo field is printed within the detailed area. The problem is, the apllication is not setup properly, thus the users are entering data within the memo field as: location1 1/1/2005 1/1/2006

Following on from an earlier post... I can reliably corrupt a record by doing the following ... Open two separate but identical front ends on one PC each linking to the same back end. Edit a records in one front end and leave it unsaved. Edit the same record in the other front end and save the change. Save the change in the first front end - this pops up the Write Conflict message to which I click Save.

I'm using Access 2002 to create a database for a small opera company that my wife is involved in, and I'm more than a bit rusty because I haven't created a new Access database since about 1999. So, I will probably have quite a few questions as I go through this, and hopefully this group will help me out. I will be creating this database for someone else to enter the data. I have a patron table with name, address, email, etc., and I...

I have a table with 250 fields. Of course you are wondering why 250 fields... what could I possibly be storing in so many fields? I am using this table as a general import table for files that vary based on user selections. The input files are CSVs and can number from 2 to 175 columns. Each field is usually able to fit into a Text field (< 255 characters) but every now and then a longer field creeps in. since I don't know in which column...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
