I'm exporting a large file from a large Production database (SQL).
Users are currently updating and inserting new records.
Does the export take a snapshot of the data when it starts ? or will
it freeze the database so all udpates/inserts happen after the export
completes?
Also, how do I get the delta of data that wasn't exported, if I want
to get the difference the next day?

I'm working on a system right now where I have a database (two,
actually, but one is discarded halfway through), but it's created
and used as part of a process (reporting), rather than as the
actual production data repository. I may be keeping the database
permanantly, but it would be completely read-only; once the
process is complete, the database will not change again. This has

Let's say, I have Table1 and Table2, both with the exactly same
structure and data in it, except that Table1.Field1 is empty in data
but Table2.Field1 have data in it.
How could I copy all the data from Table2.Field1 to Table1.Field1?
Is there any simpler way except looping through all the records to do
it?

Ok I am attempting to build a training database that records the
employees training required vs. training received. My problem lies in
the fact that the jobcode(s) assigned to that employee determines what
training is required. I need to have a form that 'checks' a

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
