Hi,
I am using the following SQL statement courtesy of access monster user:
'Terry Kreft ' to convert dates from a text format (20020331 00:00:00) to a
recognised date/time format (31/03/2002).
SELECT
END_DTTM,
Left([END_DTTM],4) AS END_DTTM_year,
Mid([END_DTTM],5,2) AS END_DTTM_month,
Mid([END_DTTM],7,2) AS END_DTTM_day,
DateSerial([END_DTTM_year],[END_DTTM_month],[END_DTTM_day]) AS
END_DTTM_date
FROM HEORG
This is working very well, however i have come across a problem where the
date field is null. The SQL is trying to serialise the null field, and is
returning: #Error
Can anyone kindly help me write in to this statement, not to convert the null
fields?
Thank you.
Annie

you need to add a filter....
WHERE END_DTTM IS NOT NULL
how about
WHERE END_DYYM IS NOT NULL
Is Terry Kreft really an Access Monster? I know his work is GIANT! But

I have received a table of data that has a field containing date
information. Unfortunately it was derived from a MainFrame dump and
originated as a txt file and was then ported into an Access MDB file
before it became an SQL table. The date format is vchar(50) and
actually is comprised of 6 charecters ie: 010104 for Jan 1 2004. I
need to run a select statement for a range of dates such as 010104
thru 030104. Unfortunately being a...

I'm trying to write some code that will convert any of the most popular
standard date formats twice in to something like "dd Mmm yyyy" (i.e. 08 Jan
1908) and compare the first with the second and calculate days, months, and
years. This is not for a college course. It's for my own personal
genealogy website. I'm stumped about the code. I'm working on it but not
making much progress. Is there any free code available anywhere? I know it...

Hi
I have been trying to convert the week number to a range of dates that
I can use. It should be fairly simple for you guru's out there but for
us mere mortals it is beyond our grasp.
I know that there are different start days of the week so I would
presume any function would provide that facility. Hope you can help

Working in a form, I have an Iif statement where if a date is not
filled in, another field will show as a blank. If the date IS filled
in, the 2nd field will show its actual value. The following statement
is in the Control Source of the field
=IIf(IsNull()," ",)
So, the results I get are this: If the date field is blank, my
field is blank. If my date field is
filled in, my returns an #ERROR.

I'm trying to filter a table that has 2 date fields, the first date will
always have a value but the second will only occasionally has a value. Each
date field also has a corresponding text field to record the record's
status.
Sample data:
*tblTest*
Model Parts CDate CStatus RDate RStatus
616 $359.79 03-Nov-03 C

Hi,
I am automating Access reports to PDF using PDF Writer 6.0. I've
created a DTS package to run the reports and schedule a job to run this
DTS package. If I PC Anywhere into the server on where the job is
running, the job runs sucessfully, PDF files got generated, everything
is good. If I scheduled the job to run at the time that I am not
logged into the server, Access is not able to print to the printer.
The error is pretty...

Hi all -
This problem has been driving me crazy, and I'm hoping the answer is
something stupid I am neglecting to see....
The procedure posted below is part of an Access/SQL database I have
developed. Basically, the user would input a beginning and ending date,
and the query goes and pulls records that meet the following criteria:
1. TradeDate is between beginning date and ending date

Hello, I've reviewed the archives here to address the issue, but I'm still running into problems. I've got a table field populated with the record date in text "YYYYMMDD"
To convert it into a recognizable date format, I've done the following:
Query 1: References Source Table; Isolates Year, Day; creates MMDD field
Acc Open Year: Left(,4)
Acc Open Day: Right(,2)
MMDD: Right(,4)
Query 2: References Query 1; Isolates Month

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
