Hello. I'm using SQL query analyzer to run some queries against an
SQL2000 DB. Unfortunately, my previous SQL experience is some Oralce
SQL I took in school.
To put it simply, I'm trying to write a query to pull records that
match a variable input. In Oracle, I'd use a substitution variable
like this...
SELECT * FROM jobs WHERE jobid = &job_id_to_query;

Is there a way to set a certain format under the Query Criteria for
input?
i.e.: As user type 200000000, 200-00-0000 is displayed in the query
input box. However, 20000000 is the actual value querried. I am not
sure if I make myself clear or not. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Perry

**Eric and Salad - thank you both for the polite kick in the butt. I hope
I've done a better job of explaining myself below.
I am trying to produce a form to add products to a table (new products).
Tables:

To prevent future apostrophe bugs and errors, isn't it just simpler to
forbid an apostrophe from being entered into a text field? For example,
couldn't "Alice's Restaurant" be changed to "Alices Restaurant" etc.
automatically and programmatically during data entry? This would eliminate
my concatinated strings from producing errors when I base the string on a
query. Think this is an example of the "Dreaded Apostrophe Bug." If I
enter a...

I have read several variations of this topic posted on this news group.
However I was not able to find the answer for my problem.
I am trying to build code (see below) to update a large single record
using data from a temporary (editing) table with identical field
structure. I iterate through the fields (some 50 of them) with a For
Each - Next loop to update each field with the SQL statement. The
updating works fine with numeric data type...

Hi,
I searched online for some similar issues that I am facing but was not able come up with anything. I am fairly new with Access (2 months experience) and I am trying to remove a message stating, ENTER PARAMETER VALUE when I am generating a report. I know that the culprit lies in the query stored in the report. I have entered data in the CRITERIA (entered forms!frmproducts!lngproductID) window and OR (entered...

Hello,
I have a database in Access2003. I have set up several queries that use the parameter entry . Each query produces different outputs from various tables that go into a report. Sometimes, a report calls for more than one query using the same serial number. Is there a way to not require the operator to input that same parameter for every query short of building a hugh query for all the data for that report? For a group of queries, I...

I am either having an extended blond moment or have been looking at this too long. This is a basic question but I simply cannot get my head around the solution.
I have a Search form with grouped radio buttons. Depending on the selection a different query will run. The problem I am incurring is when I am querying more than one table.
As an example:
SELECT tbl_Claim.Txt_InsuredName, tbl_Claim.Date_DOL, tbl_Claim.Mem_PolNo,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
