Hello,
Has anyone here used the Visual Studio 2003 Office Developers Extensions?
I'm wondering if the package and deployment wizard is any better than it's
XP / 2002 counterpart.
I already have 2002 Dev Edition, but would like something a little more
configurable and a little more reliable when it comes to dependancies.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks! 3 1494

Perhaps look at Installshield or something. It can package up all sorts
of redistributable s (Access, VB, DAO, ADO, MDAC, DirectX etc etc)
Although you will also need a developer version of Access as you must
have a license to redistribute it.

Hi Bradley,
Money is an issue, that's the thing. If VS 2003 will do a better job than
2002, then I'll go for the upgrade earlier rather than later. Looking more
for anyone with experience with VS 2003 Office Dev Extensions.
Thanks though.

Fair enough. That's exactly why I don't have a copy of either! :)

The good news:
Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes,
you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++
compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need
is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation
time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of
running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to
build binaries and a...

Hi chaps,
Does anyone know if the beast is going to release Visual Tools for office to
work with Visual Studio 2002 and not just 2003, or are they quite happy to
shaft those that supported them when their product just cam out.
I can't see why the tools shouldnt work with 2002 seeing as its almost
identical to 2003.
Has anyone heard anything

I am not a .NET developer. I want the Developer's Edition of Visual Studio
for use with my Access2000 databases. Does anyone have a clue as to where
to find it - my office manager says only .NET is available from any websites
she's searched. Anybody have a used copy they'd like to get rid of?
Is/should it be impossible to get hold of this product? My understanding
is that .NET doesn't offer that much as far as Access development is...

I am trying to create a DLL in Visual Studio 2005-Visual Basic that contains
custom functions. I believe I need to use COM interop to allow VBA code in
Excel 2002 to access it. I've studied everything I can find on COM Interop
and .NET. I've also tried many of the 'Walkthroughs' on the MSDN site
relating to COM add-ins, .NET and Office XP but am unable to get even these
working in Excel 2002 or Word 2002.
I've installed the Office XP...

I hope that there is someone here that can help me. It's not directly
related to this group but maybe someone here can help me. I wanted to
deploy my Access database to another pc using the Access 2003 Developer
Extensions. Check the web and found out that it is part of Visual
Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System, which in turn is a free
add-on to Visual Studio 2005. Bought Visual Studio 2005 Pro. (Plenty
money right there)....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
