Need form button that creates URL link from unique ID record

I have a unique ID field in a table of products. And rather than store
the full hyperlink/URL address I decided just to store the unique ID. I
would like to have a button in a form that contains a URL to a web
page, by appending the ID to a base URL.

So when I bring up the form it has created the button's underlying URL
link on the fly.

for example the base URL is www.blank.com/products/
I would like to append my unique ID to the end of this base URL.
so www.blank.com/products/54321

How do I go about it.

Thanks.

you can either base it on a query or a calculated control on your form.

just use something like [baseURL] & [hyperlinkID] as the controlsource
for your control, and format it like a hyperlink (it's normally going
to be a text field)

Folks, I am working on a contact db using PHP and MySQL. My results so far outputs a slimed down version of records to the browser. I would like to implement a method whereby the user can click on a text link which will then show the full record. I don't want to have hyperlinks with values incorporated in the link (thus, I don't want to have http://www.example.com?abc=1234) - I prefer to use a POST method thus what I would like to do...

Hi all, I have a problem that maybe has no solution, but before giving up, I was wondering if somebody has an idea.... I have a form with a subform (continous) that shows the related records; the form shows the CDs, while the subform shows a record for each item in the CD. Pressing the Edit button, the form and the subform become editable, so that the user can change the CD details and / or any information about the content. After having...

My Problem: I have created a database here at work that is exhibiting some very strange behaviour. Essentially the database is structured in a manner where one table is a master record table (tbl_MainRegister) providing a unique identifier for documents and a means for identifying the docuement type. There are then 4 additional tables (tbl_Meetings, tbl_Documents, tbl_Project, tbl_Correspondence) which store the document details.

I am looking to set up a hyperlink control on a form to retrieve letters that correspond to a record on a form. That is, there may be 100 form records, and I would like each of those form records to have a hyperlink button or control on it. that when pushed, pulls up the unique Word document associated with that form record. In this example, there would 100 unique letters associated with 100 unique form records. I tried working with...

Hi, I am working on a genealogy project in which I have two tables: Person -- one record for each person in the family. Each record has a unique Autonum field (IDPerson). Partnerships -- one record for each marriage. Each record has a unique Autonum field (ID), and also contains two fields IDPartnerMale and IDPartnerFemale. Both of the latter fields match records in the Person table via IDPerson.

When I am adding records to a database and each record is unique by the Serial Number. I would like to step through my code adding records unless the Serial Number already exists in the database. If the record already exits, then I would like to pop up a form, in pop-up, dialog mode. The form will ask if the user wants to make changes to the existing record and go back to the form and not make any changes. The code stops because the...

VS2005 I've been reading all the help I can on the topic (MSDN, other) but I can't make sense of this. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
