Spammed by PC Datasheet

RR
Does everyone who posts here get spammed by PC Datasheet, or is it just a
"lucky few"? I've asked two questions in the last year, and gotten spammed
by him both times.

Yes yes I know, dont used a correct email address. Sad part is I am not
getting spam for anyone except from the "access professional".

Or maybe I misunderstood what this news group was all about..........

I have not experienced this. And in my history I have only seen sensible
posts by PC datasheet. Could this possibly be a virus operating? Abuse
of his name? We do have resident trolls, you know.

Oh and I did notice a significant increase in spam as I posted here. It
seems spambots are still active. I do not use my correct mailadress
anymore exactly for that reason.

It might not be deliberate unsolicited email. Some people press reply
all when responding to posts on usenet and if your address is not
munged, you will get it directly. It is irritating when someone does it
all the time, but it does happen and despite my position in the last
trainwreck of a thread I was involved with over Steve, I'd give him the
benefit of the doubt.

Also, I've sometimes responded directly to a poster if I've come across
their post some days after it was posted and no one else has helped
him/her - some people don't follow threads, even ones they've started
for more than a couple of days, so i do it to be sure the person gets a
response.

IMO this is no virus, no troll also.
I guess since Steve has problem's advertising here, he is trying 'direct mail'.

Ja dat zou kunnen natuurlijk.

Maybe he'll answer one day. I don't believe in a marketing method like
that. And I won't let myself irritate either.

RR, as you asked: No, I haven't (then, I don't post too many questions).
Nice to have Delete.

I want to follow naming conventions for my controls - i usually prefix combo boxes with "cbo". When a form is in datasheet view however i do not want the user to see the 'cbo' prefix in front of the field name. Is there a way to retain this nomenclature and yet have the view display the field name (or anyname i want for that matter)? Thanks --

I'd like to be able to do in-cell editing of a datasheet and have other fields automatically update. I know... the easy answer is to use Excel, but I'm wondering if I can pull this off in Access since all my data is in tables. For example, I have a SubForm Datasheet with these text boxes: txtAccountNumber txtCurrentBalance txtPendingTransactions txtLedgerBalance

I am trying to find out if I can have a specific record that has been selected in a list box be opened in datasheet view. I can't seem to find where this can happen or what I need to use to make it happen? Does anyone have any ideas? My list box is currently tied to an option group so that they can sort the list box in order of how they want to search for certain records. It is a maintenance form. I want the user to be able to select...

I haven't been able to find this answer in previous posts; I have a form, with a subform that is displayed in datasheet view, and one field "Item Description" could be from very few to many characters. I would love to just show 2 inches, and have a scroll bar for viewing the rest of the info. I have my form property set to Default View: DataSheet, views: Datasheet. My form is set to Scroll Bars: Vertical, but when I open it I get...

Greetings - this is the first time I am posting to this forum. I am using Javascript to ensure that the user enters all required fields in a form. However, this form is being spammed to death with the user or a robot filling up all fields and sending tons of html links in the text area of a comments/question box. I want to use javascript to see if there are any links in the fields and if so, not allow the form to be submitted. Does anyone...

That rather long subject says it. In Access97 running on XP - I want to display a Maximized size Form01, then open a Restore size Datasheet View Form02 on top of the first Form. PopUp won't give me Datasheet view. Dialog mode won't give me Datasheet view I could make Form01 Restore size and expand it to fill the Window in Restore size (maybe DoCmd.MoveSize Right, Down, Width, Height) - I don't want this.

I have a datasheet form in which one field is a combo box that will potentially contain hundreds of records. I've read about several methods of speeding up such combo boxes or limiting their initial contents and I have used those methods on "form view" forms, but they don't lend themselves to datasheet forms. One thing, of course, is to set the Row Source programmatically using the OnEnter event and to limit the Row Source based on a query with...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
