Using different versions of access

ken
I just opened up an access database that works both in 2k3 and 2k. How
is this possible? Usually access would pop up with a window that says
you have to convert this database to the latest version. Otherwise you
can only view it read only..

?

Thanks

Access 2002 and Access 2003 can use databases either in Access 2000 file
format or in Access 2002/2003 file format. In fact, the default is that the
file will be saved in Access 2000 file format. You can use Tools | Options
to save in Access 2002/2003 file format, if you want new features. You are
correct that this is different than earlier versions of the product.

One new feature that I especially like is that DoCmd.OpenRepor t now provides
an OpenArgs argument and Reports have an OpenArgs property from which you
can retrieve the value entered in the OpenArgs argument. You can pass
criteria or other information, and apply it to the Report.

The "how" is that this is the way Microsoft implemented these versions of
Access. You cannot use new features introduced with Access 2002 or 2003 if
you save and use the Access 2000 file format.

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported Unicode (UTF-8) file. I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and Zend PHP Studio. DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense (or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

After reading and experiencing the phenomenon of installing MS Office 2000 on a system that already has MS Office 97, or for that matter just Access 97 Runtime, I saw the ugliness that ensues. If one elects the standard installation, then Office 2000 deletes a large percentage of the older files. Of course, if one happens to choose Custom installation and elects not to uninstall prior versions, then things are happier. Yes, the archives...

I've developed an Access 2002 database which will be deployed with the backend on a server and frontend on the users' PCs. I've now been advised that new employees will be given laptops with Access 2003 installed and that the server software will not be updated. Also some of the users are using Access 2000 and some Access 2002. My question is - will this work? There is a lack of IT support in this department - they've contracted with...

I may need to have front ends configured for Access 2002 and 2000 and have one access 2000 backend. I think it might work? Right now I have access 97 and 2k on my computer and when I tried linking to a table from 2k to 97 it took it. So I'm thinking that if I have Frontends configured for different access versions and 1 backend I might be able to solve my problem. comments? THanks in advance.

I have a VB windows forms application that accesses a Microsoft Access database that has been secured using user-level security. The application is being deployed using No-Touch deployment. The objective in utilizing this new deployment method is to reduce the maintenance overhead as well as making it easier for my users to setup and run the application initially. I have VS 2002, Windows XP, Access XP(2000 format). He is my problem....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
