I'm trying to write some code that will convert any of the most popular
standard date formats twice in to something like "dd Mmm yyyy" (i.e. 08 Jan
1908) and compare the first with the second and calculate days, months, and
years. This is not for a college course. It's for my own personal
genealogy website. I'm stumped about the code. I'm working on it but not
making much progress. Is there any free code available anywhere? I know it...

I have a very simple db I use for keeping track of hours, tasks, projects,
clients etc. It has a form that I use to enter data. Currently the form has
a textbox for a field called "start time", another for a field called "end
time" and a third for a field called "hours", among other controls. I now
type in the approximate times in the first two textboxes, and mentally
calculate and enter the difference or elapsed time in the third.
I...

I am not an experienced programmer. I do have a question regarding
workday calculations.
I have 3 fields. CURDATE, NUMDAYS, CALCDATE
After entering the first two fields, normally the current date and for
example 10 (10 day period) I need the CALCDATE to pass me the
calculated date taking into account workdays and holidays. In other
words, the 10th business day. How is this done? Thanks for any help...

object invalid or no longer set - confusion of the recordset in access
2003.
i am currently converting from access 97 to access 2003. majority of
the codes converted over perfectly fine, though my recordset did not.
i read from pasts posts that some references will not convert. so i
tried to change the dao 3.51 reference to dao 3.6 in access 97. then i
imported all of the objects into an access 2003. it did not work.
so my second...

I am a graduate student writing a thesis on a space in Indianapolis
called the Circle.
I'm trying to figure something out that would really help me out as I
write this thing.
I would like to be able to enter in a structure, the range of dates it
existed, and the lot number (there are 19 lots around the Circle, but
I'm planning on technically counting the center Circle itself as a lot
- so 20). I would enter something like:

Need to calculate a sum based on a number of factors over a period of
years. I can use formula ^x for some of it, but need totals to carry
over in the sum and have only been able to do this thus far with a loop
in a form.
Basically, I have key sums
Current savings
Current Salary
Current deposit amount

I've been programming in Filemaker and am used to having a field type
called Calculation. An example of a calculation: In a school
registration database I have a date field corresponding to the start of
a quarter. I create a Calculation field to automatically generate a
human readable text string that looks like 'Spr 2005, Wi 2005, etc'.
Is there a way of doing this in Access?
Thanks,
Kevin

Access has a number of built-in functions which can be generally used in queries or VBA code. Some of the more common ones are:
Note: anything in square brackets is optional
Date Functions
Date() - Returns the current system date
Now() - Returns the current system timestamp (date and time)

Hi,
I wondered if you could help me with an issue I'm having. Currently I have a rebate calculation that is running off two tables:
1) A list of suppliers and the rebate %ages relevant to them
2) A ongoing list of invoice details, including a month/year period and an invoice total
At the moment, I can happily run the rebate calculation for the current month. What I would like to do is begin to track changes in supplier rebate rates...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
