I have form with subform that has a button(one in parent, one in the
child) that calls the microsoft access find/replace object.
In order to make it a find only object I need to set the allowedits
property to false.
I was using the Me.AllowEdits however if my focus is set in the parent
form and I click the search in the child it doesnt work.
To make things easier I want to set the allowedits=fals e by calling the
parent and subform by name
If I have a parents form called pform and a child form called cform how
can I set the allowedits to false for both, calling them by name so it
doesnt matter where my focus is.. 4 5866
You could refer to:
Forms!pform.All owEdits
Forms!pform!cfo rm.Form.AllowEd its
Not sure why turning off AllowEdits would help a find though. There is a
Find button on the toolbar (binocular icon) that works in whichever form has
focus.

Thanks.. when you call the find replace command if you have allow edits
turned off then you will only see the fine menu rather then the find
and relplace menu..
Ah, that makes good sense.

This worked like a champ. I was missing the seocnd .form when calling
the subforms.

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at
http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx
but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all out). Therefore, here goes my simple "web dialog box with parent event handler fireing" solution.

For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action
appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent
remains open. I am then unable to close the application.
What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child
forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the
controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should
execute only...

Let's say I have an MDI parent form with a textbox. If I create an MDI
child form and, at runtime, move the MDI child window over the textbox on
the MDI parent, the textbox appears in front of the MDI child window.
How can I make the MDI child window appear in front of any controls that may
be on the MDI parent?
thanks, John

quick question, how do you submit a form to a parent window from a
child popup window? i have the following and all online documentation
*suggests* that it should work but it does NOT:
// Parent window:
<script language="JavaScript">
function popup(url, name)
{
window.open(url, name, "width=800,height=600,scrollbars=yes");

It would be helpful if I could attach a graphics file to this posting that would help explain what it is I'm trying to achieve...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
