MS Outlook link with Access

Is it possible to link data from an Access database with Outlook? My client
would like to be able to have a calendar similar to that in MS Outlook
whereby they can type daily tasks on the calendar which is linked to a
particular record. Can't use the calendar in Access as it does not allow you
type in data on the calendar itself. Basically the client wants to be able
to view the month's task on one page for one or more of a variety of
records. So if a particular day is clicked on the calendar it will then
display the tasks and their associated record id's.

Thanks in advance

Sorry I cannot offer a solution here. I'm hoping you get a clear
answer to this question because I've been wanting to implement a task
oriented calendar inside of Access for a long time.

Hi, I currently have an Access 97 database that includes a field for contact name of a user. This user will almost always have a valid email address contained in the personal address book of the person who inputs the records into the database. At present the person inputting the records has to manually look up the correct address and copy in into the field. I know that it should be possible to lookup that address by some form of...

I know if I was using an Access MDB I could link to MS Outlook folders and the addressbook. But I'm using an Access Project (ADP) and want to figure out a way to link to the Outlook addressbook this in code. I'm hoping someone has an example of how to accomplish this, through CDO or otherwise. Thanks, lq

Greetings all! I've been searching and searching for about two hours looking for advise, help, tips for viewing an Outlook calendar (any view, month, week, day) from within Access. I've noticed that linking the Outlook folder is easy, but the link doesn't include the appointment data, i.e. start time, end time, etc. Am I barking up a dead tree? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I was able to successfully link my Outlook Contacts table to an Access Database and create an entry form. Unfortunately the Displayname field which is one of the key fields for how the contact is stored states that it is an expression and will not accept entry, nor will it automatically conjoin the first and last names as it would normally do if you entered it in an outlook form. Without this when you click on the entry in outlook instead...

Hi When I open a new outlook email from vb.net, sometimes outlook is very slow to appear or occasionally outlook freezes completely. I am targeting mixed office2000/xp environments so I am using the office2000 interop dlls generated by vs.net by adding office 2000 com reference. Any one else noticed this problem when targeting office2000/xp mixed environments? Is there a better, more robust way to do this? Am I better off using late...

Hi all, I need to get at specific (shared) agenda-data from MS outlook 2003. I need every day to get the scheduled 'appointments' for some rooms to Access. In Access I will show the time-periods that the rooms are booked for that day. I know how to code all this in Access. I can show some testdata for 5 rooms quite nicely on a form. I never ever needed to use Outlook-to-Access before, so I need a good starting point to get the data.

I am running MS Access 2007 and I want to update an Outlook Address book from my Access Database. I started out by importing the Outlook Address Book as a linked table and it linked fine. I then built a query to filter a master contact list of contacts and I made it an append query to added to the linked Outlook address book table. However, I am getting an error message that says I do not have the necessary permissions to use this object. At...

In my business, I use Quickbooks extensively for billing and accounting and a custom built Access DB for project management. I recently began using MS Outlooks contacts quite extensively as well (recently bought a PDA to bring to job sites!). I have been able to get things set up so that I can synchronize my Quickbooks customer and vendor lists with the Outlook contacts, and thus with my PDA and this has been immensely helpful. My DB has...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
