Error link to an Outlook Address Book from Access 2007

3 New Member
I am running MS Access 2007 and I want to update an Outlook Address book from my Access Database. I started out by importing the Outlook Address Book as a linked table and it linked fine. I then built a query to filter a master contact list of contacts and I made it an append query to added to the linked Outlook address book table. However, I am getting an error message that says I do not have the necessary permissions to use this object.

At first I thought it was my query but I tried to just open the linked table and manual enter a name and fax number and I get the same error. My goal in the end is to be able to load this query data to the Outlook address book and then using the MS Fax print drive fax reports to folks directly from access. The database would keep the Outlook address group updated.

I have attached the actual error message I get when I try to enter data to the link Outlook Address Book:

Is there VB code that will set the permission on a linked outlook table?

Any help on how to set permissions on a linked Outlook address table would be appreciate. I have attached I screenshot of the structure and actual error call. Thanks in advance!

Pat

This is an issue involving the MDW file in MS Access. My understanding is that the system mdw file is no longer used If you convert your database to the new 2007 file format. If you have not migrated to the new format and continue to use the mdb format, then this link tells you what have to do to migrate your system mdw file.

Currently using & developing a new application in A97. This app has a lot of Name & Address information in it. A lot of that information will be duplicated in Outlook & I suddenly wondered if its possible under the newer versions of Office to use the information already stored in Outlook as part of an Access database project. The logic being that the data could then be held in one place rather than two. This is a customer & order management...

I've heard that there was a linking utility that would permit me to link a table or query to my outlook address book. Can anyone tell me where to find this linking utility and how it works? The links that I found on the WEB no longer existed. I want to be able to select names to send emails to from Outlook without having to import them so that my changes to the database will always be refelcted in the outlook address.

Hi all My access database has import/export capabiltiy of contact details between outlook. The database is getting big now (1000+ contacts) and so are the outlook address books that have the contacts info in them. When I export contacts from access to outlook, it takes a long time because there are so many contacts in the Outlook address book, and it is checking all of these against the contacts coming in, so as to avoid duplicates....

Hi NG! Is there a way to open the Outlook address book dialog (as in Outlook) using C#? I am using Outlook 2003 (MS Outlook 11.0 Object Library). In Outlook 2007 it can be done with SenderNameDialog. I need to support both versions. Any hints? TIA

This must be a common operation, but I have searched this newsgroup and have wrestled with the help messages, and I seem to need help with this simple task. I have an Access 2000 database which, via a query, can generate a list of e-mail addresses. I can export this list, if necessary. There may be hundreds of names in this list. Now, I want to send e-mail to everyone on this list. I can copy the list onto the clipboard (all 300...

In Windows Mail, in the import process, I get to a window that wants me to Browse for the CSV files.... I don't know how to find the Outlook files - are they already in CSV format? HELP!! I can manually re-create the address book but I'm hoping there's some easy way to do this.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
