Report Blank When Cursor is on Blank Line?

My basic question is why does my print report button on my subform print a
blank report when my cursor is on a blank entry line? Here is a more
detailed explanation of my problem.
I have a form that contains shipment destination information and a subform
that contains boxes for that shipment. The main form is a table called
Ship_Info, and the subform is a table called Label_Info. They both contain
and are linked by a field called Load_ID. My report is called "Load Sheet".

I have a button on the subform that prints the records only on that subform
to the "Load Sheet" report. This works great. The subform is a continuous
sheet, so as I add fields, it adds another blank line below to enter another
record. I move from field to field in the form by hitting tab or enter.
When I hit tab or enter, it moves my cursor to the next blank line. If I
hit the "Print Load Sheet" button on the subform while my cursor is in the
blank line, the report is blank. If I move my cursor to the previous
record, the report has all the records on the subform like it should. The
records seem to be savedIs there something I can do so that it will print
the records when I am on the blank line? The records seem to

I am using:

Me!Field_Name.D efaultValue = """" & Me!Field_Name & """"

on a few fields to populate the next field with the same value--if this
makes any difference.

I am using:

DoCmd.OpenRepor t "Load Sheet", acPreview, , "[Load_ID]= " & "'" &
Me![Load_ID] & "'"

to print my Load Sheet from the subform.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chad

how about checking whether the line you are currently on is new but not
dirty and then moving to the previous record if it is. Then print.

Sounds good. How exactly do I do that? I need to be able to print while on
the balnk line.

When you're on a new record in your subform, [Load_ID] won't have a
value yet and will not have a value until the record is saved. If I
were you I would modify my OpenReport code to use the value of
[Load_ID] from the parent form, e.g.

DoCmd.OpenRepor t "Load Sheet", acPreview, , "[Load_ID]= '" &
Me.Parent.Form![Load_ID] & "'"

Hi, I am using Access 2000 to print out an address book. I have designed the report based on a database whose first record is not blank. In the design there is a one line report header, a onle line page header, three lines of detail (name address etc)and a footer. On previewing or printing the report it inserts a blank three line detail section before the first record. Every other page is fine except this first page. Not a big deal but it...

Hi, I have a report with Name1 and Name2 in the address section . Sometimes, Name2 is not populated with data via the query that feeds the report. Unfortunately, the blank line stays in the report. I've tried experimenting with the Can Shrink property to no avail. Any tips on eliminating blank lines the right way would be much appreciated. thanks!

I have a big VS 2002/2003 annoyance, and wondering if there is a way to turn it off: Put your cursor at the start of an indented line of code inside a function. (right before the first character, not at the left margin) Now press Enter. It does insert a blank line, but it also moves your cursor 6 characters to the right, so that it is no longer at the beginning of the statement. If you press Enter again, you've now busted apart the...

When creating an msAccess db within the Access UI itself the fields that are text are NOT padded with blanks. For example, if I have a 10 char field and put in "HI" and then when I come back to the field and click my mouse on it the cursor is just after the "I" in "HI"... that is, no blanks were added to the field. However, when I create an MDB database programatically in VB.Net using ADOX and create the tables using SQL stmts (ie:...

Hi everyone. I am working on a report that has a running sum text box throughout the detail section of the report. In the report footer I have a summary in which I have a text box i.e. txtTotal, which has the final total of the running sum box in it. I am setting the txtTotal box to store the Nz value of the running sum, so if it is null, then txtTotal is 0, therefore it will always have a numeric value. In VBA on the report format...
