Context-Sensitive Access Controls

Does anyone know of any restrictions of controls on Access forms that
makes them ineligible for Context-Sensitive help? Are some types of
controls not able to be made context-sensitive?

I have started adding Context-sensitive help to my Access 2000
application. On the first form I am working on, it seems that the text
boxes respond to the Context-sensitive 'What's this ?' but the labels
and image controls do not, even though they have the Help Context ID
property. I would have thought that they would not have this property
if they could not be Context-sensitive.

Now I am wondering what other types of controls might not work, or
perhaps, hopefully, there is some other property I need to set in
addition, to make it work for these controls. I often use labels
instead of command buttons in order to be able to set the background
color, background style etc and would really like to be able to add a
nice help topic via the "What's this ?' tool.

Any one seen this problem before, or know of a list of what control
types work, or don't work?

TIA,
Christine

The following question is about XPath and context, as I am not sure I'm grasping the concept entirely and this is causing me some problems while working on my XSL transformation. I have checked the XPath specification and am somewhat familiar with the different addressing mechanisms. What confuses me is the context when using templates and various (nested) <xsl:for-each>, <xsl:if> and <xsl:when> expressions. For example, say I have a...

With DB2 7.2 we used to call methods from other SQLJ Stored Procedures, as it was not possible to call SPs via the SQL Call-statement from within SPs. So we always had a method like this: protected static void execute(Connection con, (...)) Where we passed a Connection object for dynamic SQL (which we got using the getConnection() method of the DefaultContext). Static SQL was always executed on the DefaultContext.

Hi, I am using FileStream's Async API: BeginRead/EndRead, upon completion callback execution I use the read data and call EndRead, Taking that in mind, I Wonder... does calling EndRead will cause a context switch? What is the kernel object used for blocking EndRead calls? Event and mutex cause a context switch even when the object is signaled and no wait is needed, usage of critical section prevent this switch from happening... what is the...

I'm using context to transfer variables from 1 page to another. But, with more than 2 pages it fails. Ex: page1.aspx: Context.Items.Add("customername", customername.text) Server.Transfer("page2.aspx") page2.aspx: response.write(Context.Items("customername")) => returns the customername

Often people post questions about how did they loose their context between pages, and the more common cause is that they don't store the context on the viewstate upon postbacks. Mine is the other way around. Even though I don't fill the context object, I still get it after the Page Load event. May be I'm not understanding the context object quite well. Next is the code, and I know this wouldn't regularly transfer the context to the next...

For winforms application with multiple related forms it is reasonable to create Linq database context object in start of application. Context object is released only when application exits. So connection to database may remain open for all application run time. For such a long time, some routers close connection. This causes Connection is broken error in application. How to fix this ?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
