Hello, We have a database in MS SQL 2000 and I'm trying to link to it from MS Access XP. I've created a user with full access to one specific table in the MS SQL database, but Access won't write to it. I can open this table in MS Query Analyzer and log-in as the user, and I can do update, delete, and select queries just fine... but when I link to the table from MS Access using the same MS SQL username/password, I can only read the...

Little puzzle this. I need to link from SQL2000 to Access to get to a table held within an Access DB. Now you can link within Access to a SQL table, but can this be done the other way round ? It's the first time I've needed to do something like this. What I have is an application which was written (by me) with an Access backend (to run on a CD) and now it needs to run on SQL. However, I want to be able to swap over between backends so...

Hi there, is there a way to link an Access XP database to a query in a different database (Access XP as well) like you can do with tables? My front ends need to operate on different data segments on one database and I would like to get around modifying them.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't come up with a query that works. Can anyone help? Conceptually the relationships are easy to describe. I have a table for books (Entries), a table for authors (Authors), and a linking table between the two because books often have more than one author (OA_Link). This situation is simple and common. A query to list each title and all the authors associated with that title looks like this: SELECT Entries.TitleStatement,...

I'm sorry to populate the server with yet another question about linking multiple tables and queries, howerver I have not been able to find the right criteria. My problem. I am trying to either link 3 tables together in a select query, and maintain the editablity that I get when linking two tables and creating a form. I know there is a way to link 3 tables through multiple queries however I have yet to be able to get it to work.

I have a large database application with user data in a backend and forms, code etc in a frontend. It includes a facility for migrating data from an earlier backend to the current backend by linking to the second backend and moving data between corresponding tables. Problem is that Access invariably crashes during this process. I have taken the migrate forms and code into a separate database and observed that the memory used by...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
