Find an ID number not present in a linking table

Find an id number not present in a linking table

I have a linking table (tblPayment) that monitors the subscriptions
from members. However, I need a query that can compare the ID number
fields from both tables, and show the ID numbers only that are not in
tblPayment.

My current query is like the one bellow:

MemberID MemberID Year Term
tblMember tblPayment tblSubsCost tblSubsCost
[Enter year] [Enter term (1-4)]

I need a statement to compare the two MemberID fields and report on the
ones not in tblPayment.

Thanks
Olly

Normally there would be a foreign key of memberID in the payments table, but
if not have a look at the Unmatched Query wizard in AK2 and Access 97

Hi all I'm deciding whether to use the PK also as an account number, invoice number, transaction number, etc that the user will see for the respective files. I understand that sometimes a number will be missing, which is not a problem for my purposes I don't think, but how would it be negative? Can randomly created PK autonumber fields be negative? Any way for a PK, autonumbered, *incremented* to be negative? TIA

Hi Again; I have had help from this group before and want to thank everyone, especially PCDatasheet. My database includes a field called HomePhone, it uses the (xxx)xxx-xxx format to include area code. When a customer calls, I currently use Ctrl F with the HomePhone field highlighted. Then I enter the last 4 digits and use the find next option. This is cumbersome, so I have tried several methods (including a macro) using comand...

I'm trying to load a drop-down list with all DropDownList control names from another page. How would I be able to find those DropDownList controls? The FindControl method will only find a certain control by id, but I want to find all controls of a certain type (DropDownList in this case). Is there an easier way than to get a control count of the page, loop through all controls on that page, examine their type and, if they're a...

We use Access 97. We are in the process of migrating to 2003 along with SQL in most cases. We have a production database that contains a pretty important table and we would like to know which other databases on our network link to this table. The reason is because we plan to add/remove certain fields in this table when we put it in SQL but we would like to know ahead of time which databases will be affected by this. I seem to...

I have two tables in a 1:M relationship- the parent has 5 fields in the primary key and the child 6 (these are actually pretty far downstream in a complicated ER model, but the problem is between these two). I set up the relationship with no problem- referential integrity and left outer join. I have created two forms- one for the parent and one for the child table. I want to import the child table's form as a subform on the parent...

Hello, I need to find students that have 4 consecutive absences. When a student is absent 4 times in a row, they can be dropped from the class. My class attendance file contains each attendance by date and whether they were present or not. When the student has 4 consecutive value 1 (absent) for a given session and a given class the are considered to be dropped. If I needed to know the total number of absences, I know I could group and...

Hi, I have a database with insurance clients and their dependents (spouses and children). We had a problem in the past with the twins and some of them have been entered with one month difference in their dates of birth, some of them have the same dates of births. I need to query both cases. In the case where they are set up with one month difference, the dates of birth has to be within 4 months of each other and excluding the ones...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
