right now i have some sql server tables that i search for a value w/ a key
each time a .aspx is hit. is there any way i can just have the first hit to
the .aspx select all the entries from the key/value table in to some kind of
hash table so that subsequent hits to the .aspx get the data from the hash
table instead of the database? e.g. is there any way to share a hash table
between aspx sessions? can application variable do this or is...

New to access, but to deja.com. Looked through many posts, but can not
find a good post for my problem (I believe there is, but my access
level didn't allow me to understand).
I have a table for cash flow of a shop. Forreign currencies are
accepted. I built the tables accordingly: CURRENCY TYPE (USD, EURO,
POUND ETC), AMOUNT OF THE CURRENCY. RATE FOR LOCAL CURRENCY and LOCAL
CURRENCY VALUE.
When I entered the type of currency (eg USD),...

Table A contains a list of colors (example red, blue, green)
Table B contains a variation of the colors in Table A (example
light-red, medium-red, dark-red)
To add a color variation to Table B, I want it to open a find record
dialog box before it opens the form so that you can locate the main
color you are going to enter the variations for. The form should then
open with the information from Table A already preloaded (or a dialog
box...

I have the need to translate values back and forth. I have created a
Hashtable to do this because I don't care about intrinsic order and I
want it to be a fast as possible. My only concern is that I doubled
the size of my Hashtable to accommodate translating both ways. Kind of
like the following, but longer with more complicated data.
Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
ht.Add("x1", "y1");
ht.Add("x2", "y2");
ht.Add("y1", "x1");

Hi,
I am working on a winform app. I need to use an object which can store
some information(key/value pairs) and also can be acessed by multiple
threads(read/write). From what I heard Hash table is best suited for it. My
question is
Why hash table. why can't we use an array.
I thought hash table uses more memory than array. Correct me if am wrong.

Hi,
I have a C program. I have compiled it uisng gcc and also avr-gcc. Now
after compiling, I want to know the addresses of the two variables in
my program. Is there any options that I can use to find that out? Is
there any way at all to find that out? Someone told that it was
possible but I am not able to find out.
Thank you in advance,
priya

I would be grateful if someone had a minute or two to review my hash
table implementation. It's not yet commented but hopefully it's short
and idiomatic enough to be readable. Some of the code (i.e. the
get_hash function) is borrowed from various snippets I found on the
net. Thee free function could probably need some love. I have been
thinking about having a second linked list of all entries so that the
cost of freeing is in proportion to...

Does the length of my C variable names have any affect, performance-wise, on
my final executable program? I mean, once compiled, etc., is there any
difference between these two:
number = 3;
n = 3;
I know its setting aside storage for the variable itself; does it also use
up more storage if the variable name is longer? I realize it would probably
take quite a lot of long variable names to make any impact if so, but I was
just curious...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
