Setting References

Why is it that the references I set on my computer, under tools|reference s,
don't carry through to other computers? For example, if I check "Microsoft
DAO 3.6 Object Library", why don't those to whom I send the database
automatically have the same references checked? Is there some way to do this
programmaticall y? I am tired of having to explain how this is done every
time I email a database. Thanks -- Mike

If you set a reference in your database, it should be there when you send it
to someone else.

If the reference is marked as MISSING: on the other machine, it's likely
that they're on a different service pack than you.

Hi, The Xerces XML parser is reading external DTD references in DOCTYPEs by default, but is not doing anything with them because validation is turned off by default. This is documented in http://xml.apache.org/xerces2-j/features.html#nonvalidating.load-external-dtd This setting causes many XML instances with broken DTD references in the DOCTYPE to fail and adds some performance overhead. Is there anything good that comes from this...

I have a solution with 3 projects, 2 are class libraries and 1 is a winforms exe. In one of the class libraries I need to refer to a windows form contained in the winforms exe, however when I try to set the reference I get an error as references can only be set to a dll. Any ideas/workrounds? cheers guy

Can I set the Format property in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Input Mask in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Format of a Yes/No field to Checkbox in code? I am working on a remote update of tables and fields and can't find enough information on these things. Also, how do you index a field in code?

Hello, I currently have a .dll assembly and 2 .exe assemblies that both use the ..dll assembly. I currently have the IDE set up as 3 separate projects. I must always first build the .dll assembly, then the other two. What I'd like to be able to do is to set it up so that they all work together, that is whenever I change something in either of the 3 whatever is necessary will be rebuilt in the correct order automagically. When I tried...

I am dynamically creating TextArea and drop-down lists in ASP.NET using something like HtmlTextArea eachTextArea = new HtmlTextArea(); I tried to set the "name" of these TextAreas, etc. (e.g. <textarea name="NameOfTextArea" rows="5" cols="60">some text area</textarea>), as I want to then dynamically read back the controls' values Setting the ID attributes doesn't work, nor does the following:...

The "big picture" here is that I'm wondering what it is *specifically* about that enables my application (e.g., Project_A.exe) to recognize and consume the types located in referenced assemblies. Suppose I have Project_A (Windows Forms application) opened in Visual Studio and I set a reference to two other assemblies: 1. Project_B (which is a class library project included in the same solution as Project_A)

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
