Hello all,
I am doing some research on database conversions. Currently, I am
interested in any information that would help me convert a database from
one schema to another. This could be changes as minimal as adding a
field to a table, or as large as deleting tables and changing
relationships. Unfortunately, my experience with SQL Server is minimal.
I know how to do a lot, but I do not know a lot of intricacies that
most experts...

Folks
once again I look forward to your invaluable assistance.
When converting an Access 2002 mdb back to Access 1997 using the Access 2002
inbuilt tools I receive the following error message "Some errors happened
during the conversion. No converted database was generated". This message is
not of great assistance to me in sorting out the error!!
I have not been able to find any helpful support on where to start looking

Hi,
I am evaluating various alternatives of converting Delphi (Ver 4.0) screens
to C# screens. Are there any tools available for such conversion? if yes how
much conversion do they achieve? The number of screens to be converted are
huge, we are aiming minimum regression impact.
What could be the best approach?
Currently the option of Delphi.Net is ruled out.

Hi all,
I had created this open source project - xtopdf -
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xtopdf - some time ago. It's a toolkit
to help with conversion of other file formats to PDF.
The current tools in xtopdf are available as both end-user command-line
tools, and as a library (in both procedural and object-oriented

I've seen a lot of tools out there that automatically convert Access
apps to .NET. If anyone has used one, I'd like to know which one and
what you thought of it. Are they really worth the money?
Thanks,
Shelley

I maintain a shared database on Access 97. I've just tried converting
a test copy of the database to 2003 and it appeared to work OK. That
is I got no error messages. However then I look at my modules, only 2
out of 9 have copied across.
Do I need to do something special to recompile modules and take them
across to the new version? I thought the conversion process would just
handle it. Well it seems to for 2 of the 9 and I got no...

Hi people,
In some of our webapps we offer people the possibility to upload/download documents. It'd be great if they also could edit those documents on-line (text anyway, the images/videos/etc.. can wait).
I was thinking about an RTE (Rich Text Editor) like the one I'm typing this message in and maybe some conversion tools to convert .doc to html (to load into the RTE).
I have to think about the conversion, because I'm quite sure there's...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
