Copying A Picture From An OLE Object On A Form To A File

Hi

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to save a picture stored in an OLE
objects on a form (bound object frame / unbound object frame) to a file.

I have seen a command SavePicture Picture as LPPictureDist, Filename, but
can not get it to work.

For a single instance simply right click on the OLE Frame control in
Design view, select COPY. Now open up your favourite Paint program and
select PASTE from its Edit menu.

For programmatic export of embedded OLE Images see:
http://www.lebans.com/oletodisk.htm
A2KExportOLEtoJ PEG.zip A2K ONLY! This version saves the entire
contents of a table containing OLE Object Images to disk based Jpeg
files. User selectable compression rate. Version 1.5

Thanks so much for the help, it is really appreciated. The only hassle is
the dll will not save the jpg file, it gives a code of -10, any ideas?

Thanks Again

OLEtoDisk has been used by thousands of people to export their images.

The error is most likely generated because you have not followed the
step by step instructions on the Export Form. Specifically:

You are trying to use a field as the source for the output filename that
contains illegal filename characters. This is Step#4 on the form.

another question.
I have around 900 photos (900 jpg files) named from 001.jpg to 900.jpg and I
need to insert in a table. eg. photo 001.jpg in register number 1.
the question is: how can I insert the 900 humdred files at the same time?
what kind of code do I need to use.

thank you very much

Using VB .Net 2003 Standard Edition. This simple form has a "File in Use" problem while the executable is running. Created this simple program to make sure that I hadn't done something in my code in the "real" project. In the "real" project, One part of the program saves multiple images and another part of the program moves the images to the appropriate directories based on user feedback.

What is the best way to import a picture (bmp format) via VBA from a Windows file and embed it into a Bound Object Frame (and thence to an OLE Object in a table)? I found an MS knowledge base article (205635) on the subject, but it uses VB (CreateEmbed method) rather than VBA. I can't find any similar method in VBA. A couple of related questions:

I am trying to copy selected fields from one table to another, by reading the source table record into a recordset (ADO) and then copying the relevant fields to an SQL statement "INSERT INTO...". The numeric and text fields copy without a problem, but it all falls in a heap when I try to copy a picture object field (data type OLE Object in both tables). I seem to be missing something ??? Reduced to its simplest form, this is the code...

Beware newbies: I spent a day before I figured this out: copying a bitmap (image) file to file is not quite like copying a text file--you have to do some tricks (see below), like using a "Graphics" object to wrap around the image (!). It's not so simple as shown in most examples (where they have a simple image file and hard copy it into a harddrive along the lines of : image.Save(@"C:\\temp\\myimage.pgn"); That will work, but it's a...

Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
