You have to buy the developer's tools for Office which have undergone numerous
name changes as the versions of Office have changed. That gives you the ability
(and license) to distribute and install "the runtime" version of Access which is
essentially a version that has development capabilities stripped out of it.

You do not need to hide the standard menus and toolbars when using the runtime
because none of them are available in the first place. The developer must
provide all of the interface tools for an app to be used in the runtime
environment.

Hello, I'm searching a runtime to read access databases on computers which doesn't have access installed. I found this runtime for access 2000, but I would prefer to use the access 97 "reader". Do you know where to download it ? Thanks and sorry for this bad english.

Hi Hi We are currently upgrading from access 97 to office 2003 on site. We would like to upgrade our access databases to Access 2003 but we wish to remove Microsoft access software from our end users so that we can control the creation of databases. Is there a way that our end users can still use these upgraded access databases without having access 2003 installed on their machines. The mdes will reside on a server so they can be...

I use the Access 2000 MSI Wizard from Sagekey and they don't know if the bug documented on page 32 of the Access 2000 Developer`s Handbook Volume 2: Enterprise Edition still affects the runtime. Apparently page locking is invoked when using the Access run-time record than record-level locking. This also affects Access 2000 but if you patch Access the bug is fixed. I really don't know about the runtime though. Does anyone know if...

Ok I have searched the MS website for info on this. I am totally confused. If I want to deploy an Access 2003 app and allow my users to run it using Access 2003 Runtime, where do I get the Runtime? I just purchased Office 2003 Professional. Is Access 2003 Runtime included with that or not? It APPEARS that the only way I can get Access 2003 Runtime is to

I have an Access 97 app and the ADT and am considering selling it to the public. Is this viable? What issues might I have? I also have Access 2000 and could use that if it would be better. I don't have the "ADT" for 2000. Is it called ODE or ODT? Can you still buy that? Would there be any advantage in moving up to and distributing using

As I understand it, to distribute a runtime version of Access 2003 with my app I need to spend £600 on "Visual Studio Tools for Office System package" which contains the RT plus a load of stuff I do not want. Or.... I can supply the client with a copy of "AccessRT.msi" which is on my Office 2003 pro CD and not tell anyone! Who is being more unscrupulous, me or Microsoft? Surely Microsoft forcing me

A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running Office 2003 to be able to run the database. While I use multiple versions of Access on my...

I was one of the few who was able to download the Access 2007 runtime when it was available for a short time. I installed it but cannot figure out how it runs an Access 2007 database. There is no obvious exe that runs. When the actual runtime is released I'd like to be able test my app under the runtime - not just the developement Access 2007 with the runtime switch. I just can't figure out how to run the app with just the runtime. ...

I am trying to use the Access 2007 runtime. I have a program that is fully working in 2007 but when I install the runtime version with same Operating system and Access 2003 installed I have multiple errors. One error "Function is not available in table level validation expression." This error occurs three times. when I have a two part delete query or a lookup function that checks for a duplicate entry and a update query that adds a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
