Office references

Hi

I have office 2000 installed but in references I see office 10. The rest of
the office apps are still 9.0. The problem is that when I send the compiled
access app to clients who have office 9, the app breaks. How can I get back
office 9.0 reference?

Thanks

Hi John

1. Create a new (blank) database.
2. Check that it has the correct references.
3. Import everything from the problem database:
File | Get External | Import

I've only seen this happen once, when Access 2000 and Access 2002 were both
open at the time, and a new database was created in A2000. The connection
between the Access window and the VBA window seems so weak that it can
actually get confused by this situation. In my case the new A2000 mdb ended
up with a reference to the MS Access 10 library, and was totally useless.
Had to be recreated and everything imported.

(If you are actually referring to the MS Office library, and you don't need
it, you may be able to just uncheck the reference to dump it, but I image
the create'n'import would still be worth the effort just to be sure.)

I am working on an application that uses interop to do some simple operations with both Excel and Word. I have most of functionality working, but ran into issues on making things work with both versions of office. My questions are: 1. What is the 'best' practice for building an application that will work with both versions of office? Do I need to have a separate build with different references for each? 2. Can I install interop...

I have an application that I distribute as an MDE file that clients run within Access. One of my clients has Win2000 and Office 2000 and recently installed Office SP3. Now they are getting VBA errors which I am certain stem from lost references. I only know how to get into the reference selector in an MDB file. How can I advise the client to fix the references on their machine? FYI, I told them to create a blank database and recheck...

I have a library (named DSG) created in C# which other programs use to build Excel spreadsheeets. This library uses the office PIAs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll" and also references the Microsoft Office v10 library using ActiveX. Recently I loaded Microsoft's Project 2003 (v11) to my programming computer for tracking purposes, which loaded the Microsoft Office v11 library. Now, when I run my programs (in VS C#) I get two errors:...

Hi. I've seen several KBs on using .NET for MS Office Automation. But I have a particular question: I am developing a somewhat stand-alone .ASPX page which will need to do some relatively simple MS Office Automation (Office 2003+). The .ASPX page is not part of a Web Forms Visual Studio project. It's just a stand-alone file. And therefore, there is not "References" setting or anything because there's no Visual Studio project. My...

Hi all, Using C#, I've created a simple wrapper class for using Excel. I have Office Pro 2003 installed on my devel machine. The wrapper class works great, reading and writing to/from Excel. To do this, I created a reference to "Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library", and have a "using Excel;" directive. I decided to add a method for creating a TextBox using the Shapes.AddTextBox method, which requires a

Hi, In my office I have Office 2003 on the PC. I created an Access application which has a component reference to Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library. The problem that I am having now it that in my home PC I also have Office 2003, but I only have Microsoft Office 11.0 Object Library in it and not Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library, so the application does not work right.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
