Hello,
I have a database that I need to connect with that resides on my personal
intranet server. I'm on a different subnet than this server (running
through two different gateways). When I try to open the database from my
laptop, I get the warning
"Microsoft Access cannot open this file This file is located outside your
intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file
due to potential security problems. To open the file, copy it to your
machine or an accessible network location".
After looking at the help file, I'm told that I need to add this IP address
to the "Trusted Sites" area in my Explorer browser Internet Options (the
security tab). After following the instructions to a T, and then venturing
off into trying different configurations based on additional error messages,
I still cannot connect to this database, even though it is in the "Trusted
Sites" area.
This is my own network, databases that I have created, there is no network
administrator (other than me) and changing my IP / subnet / gateway is not
an option, this is a problem that I'm trying to work through and not around.
Any help or leads or "point me in the right direction" are more than
welcome.
