That is not the way Access works. The simplest way is to learn the way
Access works and "work with it" (or teach your users the way Access works so
they can "work with it").

What you describe is "working against Access" -- that always takes
additional effort and sometimes is not possible.

Please clarify the circumstances: "current" record displayed in a
single-form view, "current" record displayed in continuous forms view,
"current" record displayed in datasheet view (of table, of query)?

Do you intend to do all your control-to-control or field-to-field navigation
with the mouse? The enter key is usually used to navigate from control to
control in a form, to activate certain controls when they have the focus
(e.g., Command Buttons), or, optionally, to navigate from line to line
within a control.

Is there a way to prevent a form submitting when you press enter on a text field? Some people press enter when they finish typing in a text field out of habit I guess unconcsciously thinking it will take them to the next field. Instead it submits the form and this causes all kinds of problems in my case. Any javascript solution?

How can I convert the "Enter" key to a "Tab" so my application will act like "Tab" has been hit when the "Enter" key has actually been depressed. This gives type-writer functionality to programs. I was able to do this very simply in VB6, however, I have not found a method to do this in .NET. -- Take Care, Dave

I want to be able to, depending on the state of the page, direct what the ENTER key causes the page to do. The problem I'm having is I have a user control with a textbox and an "enter" button. Hi, I have just built a small application with a form that has one Text Box and one Check Box and a couple of Command Buttons. What I am trying to achieve is that if the Text Box has focus and the User hits the "Enter" button the focus will move to the next Tab item (i.e. the Check Box). Likewise on the Check Box but obviously if a Command...

Probably something simple, but it's driving me up the wall... Sorry for the repost, but this group seems to be more "active" than the group that I posted my question, and it's probably as valid here as there! I have a usercontrol, which contains a textbox (as well as other controls). The textbox is set for multiline, so it *should* accept an Enter Key to move down to the next line. However, I'm...

OK, I have a question. I have a problem. I'm trying to catch all KeyDown events on a button, but the problem is when I press the "Enter" key, the button's "Click" event is triggered, not the "KeyDown" event. Or if it is, it isn't being caught by the handler. Is there a way to disable the button being clicked by pushing Enter?
