Replication Manager 4.0 - Changing IP Addresses (HELP)

HELP!!!
Last week we moved the Server From 1 Location to Another that was
running Replication Manager 4.0. (We changed the IP Addresses and
changed the name servers also... ) After the switchover, everyone that
is outside our Local Area Network is unable to get a successful sync.
I've checked all the settings that I know and everything looks right -
The Drop Box is getting data from the outside and It looks like the
Managed Databases are getting the changes - The Replication Farm shows
that data gets updated between the 2 managed databases on the server.
But it seems to stop there... What is interesting is that on a couple
of occasions I was connected to the clients computer via GOTOMYPC and
we got a Successful Sync (After Disconnecting From GOTOMYPC we still
got successful syncs) but after rebooting we could no longer sync
again.... This makes me think there is some kind of pipe that it is
going down (not sure) Anyway - I'm STUCK - Just don't know where to
go from here... I have used BIGPOST and that is successful and the
temp file shows up - I am using VB6 and RDO on the client side and LAN
Syncs are working correctly just the Internet Sync seems to fail. At
one point I loaded ACCESS 2000 and did a sync using ACCESS 2000 and
received the following message "failure to read from an internet
handle" - We got this error a couple years ago but that was due to
having the drop box named incorrectly with a space but that has not
changed since the move.

Any Ideas would be most helpful!!!

One interesting sidenote is that one user was able to sync for about a
day after rebooting - Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

I'd suggest that you'll get more results in
microsoft.publi c.access.replic ation, as your question actually has
nothing at all to do with Access, since it's a pure Jet replication
problem.

I've done lots of replication, but I never once considered Internet
replication precisely because of the hard-wired dependencies on IIS
(I made that judgment long before Code Red and NIMDA completely
discredited IIS as a viable HTTP server), and also because of the
dependency on so many different parts of the network remaining in
place.

In your original post, you cite GOTOMYPC, and I haven't a clue what
that is. It's not part of Access or Jet or replication, so I don't
know what you're telling us by saying that it works.

All that said, post in the replication newsgroup and you'll probably
get some help from Michael Kaplan. You might want to do some
searching in the newgroup on Google Groups before posting, though.
Problems with Internet replication are very common and have been a
frequent topic of discussion there.

Hello All, We are currently looking into archiving our production system. I have looked into several different options to accomplish this, and Oracle Replication is one of them. Can anyone give me any info on Oracle Replication? We currently have Oracle 8i, and it comes with the GUI interface Replication Manager, which we would be using. We are running on a Windows environment. I have read issues about having to monitor too...

Hi, For some magical reason, my database replication has suddenly stopped working. I modified the publication but the Distribution agent will not run; the snapshot does not get applied to the subscriber, and changes made at the publisher do not get replicated. Is there any known issue of DB2 replication on version 8 ? It seem that during replication configuration the target table name cannot be changed to same name as the source table name. Let say the source table name is T1 and during replication configuration the target table name is assigned as TGT1 by DB2. When changed the TGT1 to T1, the replication process never get executed. In fact, there were no error in the db2diag.log file. ...

I am currently investigating MS Access replication, my initial thought is to use 'Indirect synchronisation' due to remote disconnected client base. With this conclusion, I am presuming the 'Replication Manager', which is part of the MOD edition will be required. My only concern is that we will probably purchase a copy of Office 2003 MOD edition, and the Project itself will be developed in Access 2000 due to all clients using 2000....

Greetings, After making various edits and deletes on aproximately 40,000 records in one table (on the Design Master) syncronization fails with Error 3052 - File Sharing Lock Count Exceeded. After reading the MS KB article 173006 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;173006) I increased the locks to 100,000 on the Replica PC and I still get the error. Since the defailt value is only 9500 I would have thought that...

I'm running an Access2000 front end mde linked to an Access2000 back end mdb. I need to set up replication and synchronization of only the data tables between the master db on the pc and replicas on numerous laptops. I know that it can be done using the Access replication manager (although without a simple UI in the front end mde), but the question is: If I link the FE to MSDE rather to Access, can I 1.) provide a more

Hello, We are currently running our Access 2003 database over Citrix. We have been using a single front-end, but reading over topics in this group has made it clear that I should create separate front-ends for each user...so I will do so...thanks to this group for the great research. My question: on occasions, staff have to access the database and they will not have a network connection. I am considering setting up replication...

Hi, I set up replication with a Frontend/Backend database set up. I noticed that when I sync the master with the replica in the same folder where I set up the replication, everything works fine and when I test for conflicts I get what I expect. However if I change the folder to say Copy of Folder when I sync the master automatically wins all conflicts without asking me, for all tables except 1. I find this very unusual. Are there...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
