Replication Manager

I am currently investigating MS Access replication, my initial thought
is to use 'Indirect synchronisation ' due to remote disconnected client
base. With this conclusion, I am presuming the 'Replication Manager',
which is part of the MOD edition will be required.
My only concern is that we will probably purchase a copy of Office
2003 MOD edition, and the Project itself will be developed in Access
2000 due to all clients using 2000. Therefore after much rambling my
real question is...
Is Office 2003 MOD edition, specifically the 'Replication Manager' add
in compatible with Office 2000 and will I be able to use this feature
to set the replication processes required on the clients.

While your post may get replies here, I suggest that you'd do better to post
the same issue into the replication newsgroup.

Sir, I have implemented asynchronous replication on 2 database located in 2 different system. I did it with Replication Management GUI Tool. Before explaining the error i will explain my replication environment. The details of the systems are Hostname1- node2 Hostname2- node3 ip address- 192.168.0.232 id adress- 192.168.0.236 DB name- apple DB name- ibm

Hi, For some magical reason, my database replication has suddenly stopped working. I modified the publication but the Distribution agent will not run; the snapshot does not get applied to the subscriber, and changes made at the publisher do not get replicated. My configuration is: Transactional Replication with a 'Pull' Subscription. The Subscriber is Updateable with Immediate Updates

Greetings, After making various edits and deletes on aproximately 40,000 records in one table (on the Design Master) syncronization fails with Error 3052 - File Sharing Lock Count Exceeded. After reading the MS KB article 173006 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;173006) I increased the locks to 100,000 on the Replica PC and I still get the error. Since the defailt value is only 9500 I would have thought that...

I need advice about my decision to go with Replication in general. This post was placed on the Microsoft Replication newsgroup, but I really value the feedback that comes from this group as well. I have a new client who want their Excel data moved to Access. They have only 4-6 users of this data and a couple of them want to work disconnected, with their laptops and synchronize when they come into the office. The database will be...

I'm running an Access2000 front end mde linked to an Access2000 back end mdb. I need to set up replication and synchronization of only the data tables between the master db on the pc and replicas on numerous laptops. I know that it can be done using the Access replication manager (although without a simple UI in the front end mde), but the question is: If I link the FE to MSDE rather to Access, can I 1.) provide a more

Hello, We are currently running our Access 2003 database over Citrix. We have been using a single front-end, but reading over topics in this group has made it clear that I should create separate front-ends for each user...so I will do so...thanks to this group for the great research. My question: on occasions, staff have to access the database and they will not have a network connection. I am considering setting up replication...

Hi, I set up replication with a Frontend/Backend database set up. I noticed that when I sync the master with the replica in the same folder where I set up the replication, everything works fine and when I test for conflicts I get what I expect. However if I change the folder to say Copy of Folder when I sync the master automatically wins all conflicts without asking me, for all tables except 1. I find this very unusual. Are there...

Can anyone tell me what are the files required for Replication manager and registry entries required? I think I read that there are 7 files and 3 registry entries but no specifics. I have Replication Manager installed on one server. It works fine. The replication manager files are located in c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\database replication\

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM). In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
