I use the FMS tools (fmsinc.com) --I think it's Total Access Analyzer that
identifies objects that aren't being used. The other thing I use a lot is
Speed Ferret (www.moshannon.com), which allows me to identify all uses of a
particular object, name, or anything else--but only one at a time.

Hi, Is anyone aware of any freeware/shareware tools that can assist in identifying unused objects in a database? I have inhertited a database from a previous developer, and there seems to be a lot of unused queries and code in the database. I know of Total Access Analyser from FMS, but my boss won't agree to the purchase due to the current conversion rate from $USD to $AUD, making this about $500.00 Australian to purchase, which he says...

Hi all - I'm wondering if anyone has (or knows of) a tool that will allow me to search through VB code, tables, queries, reports, forms, and other objects, for references to all other types of objects. That's not really that clear, so here's an example: If I have a table named "table_i_would_like_to_delete_but_don't_know_if_any_object_is_using_it",

Access 2000 - Is there a 3rd party tool available, or perhaps some method built into Access 2000, which could isolate unused Access reports, queries, forms, etc? I have a 5 year old app which has not always been cleaned up. I know there are quite a few such no longer used items. I have a "Find" utility which is good, but I need to look for every component individually - it is very time consuming because there are hundreds of components...

I am just wondering if all the methods that are never called upon during a programs execution are removed when optimizing. For example you have: class FooA { void a(); ... void z(); }

I am now many months into a project where the powers that be decided to simply throw static strings in the .Net code. Does anyone know of a tool that will pull out the strings, and put them into some type of resource file and ultimately assist us in managing all the strings?

Hi, I hope this is not too off-topic! Is there a free tool that scans for unused methods? Maybe a (gnu) linker option? Thanks, Fabian

Is there a tool to identify used / unused styles in a stylesheet? I have a tendency to accumulate styles in a stylesheet. Many of these styles are not actually employed by the page, so many of the defined styles are redundant. Is there a way to identify which styles are used or not used? My normal way is to make changes to one section, then look at the page to see if anything changes, if it does, the style is in use and I have

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
