How to distribute an Access 2003 application?

pw
Hi,

I can't find anything about a toolkit on Microsoft site or what is
needed to distribute an Access 2003 application (like the SDK w/
Access 97).

I assume this is still possible. What do I need to create the setup
files?

pw,

Hi, check out the following information blocks:

Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System

This is a new suite of software tools that allows developers to combine the
productivity and power of Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Framework with the
extensibility and programmability of Office 2003. With this technology,
developers using Visual Studio .NET 2003 can use Microsoft Visual Basic .NET
and Microsoft Visual C# .NET to write code behind Word- and Excel-based
applications.

Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions

The Access 2003 Developer Extensions provide the tools and resources
developers need to more quickly and easily create, test and deploy
sophisticated Access solutions. The Developer Extensions include a
royalty-free Access Runtime enabling distribution of Access solutions. The
Developer Extensions also include tools, with source code, for creating
professional setup routines, globally searching solutions for custom strings
and creating solutions that have been stripped of all source code. The
Access 2003 Developer Extensions are part of the Microsoft Visual Studio
Tools for the Microsoft Office System.

Hello All, I have been working on this for almost a week now and I haven't anything up my sleeves anymore that I could test in addition or change.... Since I am not sure, if this is a Windows 2003 Server or ADO or ODBC issue, I am posting this on all of the three newsgroups. That's the setup: Windows 2003 Server with IIS and ASP.NET actiavted Access 2002 mdb file (and yes, proper rights are set on TMP paths and path,

Hi: I've just developped a really simple MS Access App. The VBA runs within the database. It uses some DLLs which I register with a script. It's on MS Access2003 (Office11). I've got 2003Pro but could get Ent. Never having done this before, I'm not sure what I need to do in order to be able to distribute it. I'd like not to require other users to have Access installed (let alone 2003). For starters, I'm just looking to be able...

What kind of licensing is needed to be able to use the Microsoft Access product and distribute the applications? In other words, what version of Microsoft Access does a developer need to buy in order to allow distribution of the runtime components without incurring any additional license fees per installation of the runtime? Has this changed very much over the versions of MS Access (especially since Access 2.0)? - Larry Weiss

Do I get more scalability if I split my database? The way I calculate things now, I'll be lucky to get 100,000 records in my Access 2003 mdb. Here some math: Max mdb/mde size = 2000 x 1024 = 2,048,000k Let's say on average each record in the database consumes 15k 2,048,000/15 = 136,533 records

Ok I have searched the MS website for info on this. I am totally confused. If I want to deploy an Access 2003 app and allow my users to run it using Access 2003 Runtime, where do I get the Runtime? I just purchased Office 2003 Professional. Is Access 2003 Runtime included with that or not? It APPEARS that the only way I can get Access 2003 Runtime is to

Hi What future does access have after the release of vs 2005/sql 2005? MS doesn't seem to have done anything major with access lately and presumably hoping that everyone migrates to vs/sql. Any comments? Thanks

Is there a way to find out where an application was created from? i.e. - work or home i.e. - if application sits on a (work) server/network, the IT people know the application is sitting there, but is there a way they can find out if that application was put there from a CD or email or created at work? Hint: It's not on a client/server database, just native jet database mdb created on Access 2003 (default 2000)...

Hello! I'd like to distribute an application developed in MS Access 2003. I've looked at the MS web site and it says although the ability to distribute is included with MS Office Retail, you still need to purchase a licence, yet it provides no links.. It also says that you need developer extensions to package it, but still no link! .Overall, I'm a bit confused and am wondering if anyone can set me on the right track.

Hello, I have built an application web site using ASP.NET 2003 and MSSQL database server. I now need to distribute the entire application to customers on a CD to run the web application completely from their local personal computers. In other words, they will not need to access the Internet to run the application. I know I can use the redistributable MSSQL EMMSDE for the database part, but my problem is that I want users to run the site...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
