Need help with creating a drop down menu. I am trying to replicate the
GUI of a large db application that runs on large Sun servers using
Oracle/Solaris, etc. My purpose is to create a stand-alone training
package using Access that people can run on a laptop to simulate as
near as possible the GUI of the real system.
My problem is that the actual application has a number of forms in
datasheet format which have a the word "File" in the form header. On
clicking "file" you then get a drop down menu with New (open New data
entry form), Open (open Edit form for selected row in datasheet),
Delete (delete selected row in datasheet), Cancel, plus other options
specific to the relevant form.
I have created the various forms and then added sub-forms in datasheet
format. My problem now is to create the drop down menu. I don't want
to use a Menu bar as this would not replicate the actual application.
I can't see how I can get a Command button to do the job.
My VBA knowledge is nil.
Looking at past group messages I haven't seen a solution, so any help
appreciated. 3 6418
Without using a MenuBar (or at least a toolbar), I'm not sure how you could
possibly make a menu or toolbar.
Or maybe I don't understand what you are asking.

My understanding is that Access will not allow a customized Menubar to
be "locked" to top of a specific form, but is free floating. I want to
be able to have a customized drop-down menus which are locked to the
top of each form. I have been given some VBA code (thanks Darryl)which
gets multiple drop down menus on a form but so far I'm unable to get
the selected item to call the relavant action (as I say I have nil VBA
skills).

Without seeing what you've been given, I'm not sure anyone but Darryl could
help.
It is possible to attach custom commandbars to a form, however these will
appear at the top
of the access window. They can however show and hide themselves while the
form does not have focus.

Drop-down menus are the hottest thing since Wonder Bread but . . .
1. Alot of people put them in the

2. Some people think they take up too much KB.
3. Some people are worried that people who have javascript turned off
wont be able to see them. What percent of web users have javascrips

I've implemented the horizontal drop down menu discussed recently in

Here are the problems:

I wanted to implement an alternative stylesheet for IE, but my

Hello there,
I've a drop down menu (created using CSS & Javascript -- see code
below).
My problem is, whenever I click a link on the menu
the new page replaces the current page (and the menu
disappears). Is there a way, I can keep the menu always
on top. ( A good example of what I'm looking for is similar
to the menu bar in http://www.milonic.com/ ).

I have an javascript made menu and some forms with the dropdown
element. When the menu opens and scrolls down the drop down is
displeyed over the menu and obscures the menu choices. I have this
problem only in IE, in firefox it works ok.
Is there a solution to this problem? I tried to hide the drop down when
the menu opens but sometimes the menu covers only a small part of the
drop down, but enough to obscure the menu choice.
I would...

Hi, I know i'm doing it wrong, but I'm using a while loop right now to create several instances of a drop down menu. It gives me undesirable results. Can you tell me the right way to do it. Below are a bit of information on what i did if you want t read it.
When I choose select an option in the drop down menu and hit submit, I increase a counter, and a 2nd loop generates a second drop down menu with the same options. This is exactly what...

I have a javascript drop down menu that I borrowed from a website. It utilizes a little .css to help with formatting. The menu works great, and on all 3 of the browsers I'm concerned about; but I am having one problem.
The menu, as designed, is a 1-tier menu (or is it 2-tier). It has the horizontal menu bar, along with the drop downs... but the drop downs aren't designed to propogate another menu (3rd teir). I was wondering if, but looking at...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
