Use project without revealing tables, queries, ...

Hi.

I created a project including tables, queries, forms, subforms, reports,
code, a.s.o. I would like to give this project to users, which should
just use the main form. This main form deals with everything, hence
there's no need to see the tables, queries, ...

How can configure my project so that users don't get access to the
tables, queries, code ... ? They should just be able to use one single form.

TIA

There are several ways to access the Database Window, which shows all the
objects in your application.
Depending on the sophistication of your users (and their motivation to
circumvent your intentions), you can block more or fewer of these.

You might start under Tools - Startup Options.
Set your form to be the Startup Object, and remove the checkbox to show
the Database Window.

Hi I've been trying to create an addin similar to Find & Replace from Rick Fisher that looks thru your tables / queries / forms / modules etc.. for a reference to a string and optionally let's you replace it. In order to get this to work I need to get - the tablenames and columnnames - the queries in plaintext - the properties of a form and the properties of elements contained within it

Hello, I'm looking for assistance with the Access object model. I know this is VB, but I'm building an Office Add-using C# directed at Access 2002. I'm literate in VB, so you can reply in VB... I think my problem mainly lies in knowing the quirks of the Access object model. Basically, I'm looking for a method of determining if an Access database is open yet. AND I'm looking for a method that doesn't not require checking for an...

I cannot open my Access 2003 database - I receive this error: "The Visual Basic for Applications Project in the database is corrupt." I understand that sudden and inexplicable failures like this are to be expected, so I have a backup. I was able to get to the database window and can export individual tables and queries - but is there a way to do this in a batch, rather than one by one? The database has *a lot* of tables and queries.

I have created an ADP connected to a SQL Server database. When I configured the connection to the db originally, all tables in the db came thru as linked tables in the ADP. However when I now link up to tables that have been created since, the links come thru as queries/views. This means I have some table connections and some query connectionswhich is messy. I would like to get all of my table links into the same format. What is...

I've done all the recommended things with workgroup security, creating a ..mde file, and splitting the application into a front end and, in my case, multiple backends. The problem is that users that have access to the application (thru the custom workgroup file) can import the tables into a blank database. My application has no queries and uses SQL statements in the VBA code to read/update table information. I have hundreds of SQL...

I am continuing my exploration about upsizing to SQLServer from Access 2000. I have a split database with a front-end and a back-end, each of which is A2K. I have spent some time in bookshops trying to learn about the way forward and trying to decide which to buy. The bit I am interested in is usually at page 900 and I am not sure whether I want to buy the first 800. It appears that upsizing creates an Access project as the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
