To settle the dispute regarding what happens when an "erase" method is
invoked on an STL container (i.e. whether the element is merely
removed from the container or whether it also gets deleted in the
process), I looked up the STL code. Erase certainly does not delete
the memory associated with the element. However, it appears that the
destructor on the element is invoked. I wonder why it has to be this
way. In my opinion, this renders...

Apparently, form elements of type
<input type="image" src="...>
are not included in the form's elements collection.
I don't understand why not; according to DOM2, all form control
elements in the form are part of the elements collection. Further,
this element doesn't appear in the (DOM0) document.images
collection either; so it's really not well-accounted for.

Hi everybody, I need to do a function in javascript to check or
uncheck all checkboxes with the same id. I want this function to work
in every form and every page of my site, as I will use the same id
("sel") for all checkboxes in the site. So I need to refer to these by
id.
I tried with:
document.getElementById("sel")
but this returns only the reference to the first element.
Does anyone know how I can do?

Hi All,
I was trying to apply databinding to a custom collection as in the MSDN
Magazine article found in the August, 2005 issue. After converting the code
in the article to C# and applying it to an existing set of classes, I tried
using the collection as the datasource for a standard DataGrid control. The
problem is that the collection contains a collection as one of it's member
properties (ie. SampleCollection contains a...

Using DOM in IE (SHDocVw), how can I loop through FORMs and access FORM
elements in a specific form? For example, www.hotmail.com has about 13
forms. I believe the one displayed is dependent on the URL. If I want to
access the submit button of the visible form, which is usually the last one,
how is that done?
Currently, I look for type=submit using DOM but it doesn't find anything and
only loops through the first FORM elements.
I'm...

I'm looking for a way to bring an open form to the top. I know that is I
open a form directly with form1.show() and then later, while the form is open
I do another form1.show(), that I will get original form to pop to the top.
But because I want to have multiple instances of form1 open, I open it with
dim frm as new form1
frm.show()
What I need to do now is reference the opened form from another window and
even pop it to the top if I...

I am needing to determine how to go about validating that a field in
my form contains only a positive integer. I know that this is fairly
simple if the form contains only one element to be validated; but, a
much bigger challenge ( to me anyway, that's why I'm coming to the
pros! ) when I don't know exactly how many fields may appear on the
form as it is dynamically generated based upon the number of line
items to be received on a purchase...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
